Well I was going to part with my old 79 F-150 and some how in talking...  :shruggy:  got a offer for my SL500. So should I trade even my 1984 SL500 conv for a 1967 Galaxie 500 fastback with a 390?

If money is important, then no. A hard choice mean there is "equity" between the two. Grab a pen and paper and create a list of all things good and bad about each choice to try to get clarity of mind. Then have a beer. The decision will become clearer when that 6-pack is almost gone.  :2thumbs:

Sell the 500, buy the ford with cash and then split what's left over with me.  :yesnod: :icon_smile_big:   If It was me I would pass or tell the guy to come up with some cash as well.    :yesnod:

An even trade doesn't sound sensible to me..

I say no.

He just said the Merc booked for three times as much, never said how much he actually had in the car.

HA HA HA...I was waiting for someone to bring the red headed step car up. That darn Aztec just will not die.  :rotz: It has 370k on the original paint, engine and trans...not rebuilt. We decided not to put any money in it a few years ago beyond brakes, tires, and services.  :shruggy: Nothings gone wrong. Wife won't let me get her a new car till it dies so I'm stuck looking at the butt ugly thing...I think she enjoys my suffering.
Thanks for all the responces on the SL trade. I don't have anywhere near book in it... I'm also not sure if I could get anything close to book in this market. (low 19k to high 32k) Was not really looking to sell it. Just have the itch for a new toy and I haven't been using the SL in the last few years. I'm going to look at the Ford this weekend but I'm thinking I'm gonna keep the Benz unless the Ford is super nice.

The Ford is sweet but a 390 is a very heavy motor for the power....tuff on gas mileage!  :scratchchin:
