Did you float the valves on accident? Valve springs too heavy? Improper lash adjustment? Hydro lock on that cyl from leaking fuel needle valve or Coolant leak on that cyl? Adj on rockers come loose?

what happens or how does the valves "float"?? alot of buddies are saying that the rockers might have needed more adjusting???!!

Valve float occurs at high rpms when the spring is not strong enough to keep the valve/rocker/pushrod/lifter in contact with the cam.  The cam lobe will 'drop' faster than the springs can react to keep the slack out of the valve train.  The cam lobe will come around to open the valve before it has closed and hammer it open. => valve float.  Maybe someone has a more clear explanation or better detail.

Wow that sucks... Time for a rebuild  :'( You may want to invest in a ignition with a rev limiter built in if your going to race it.
