I'm looking to get my dash pad restored on my 68 Charger. They do sell repo's, but I was told they don't fit the dash frame right and to send the original out to get re-padded.

Has anyone had their original, charger dash pad restored??   Can I get some good recommendations of restoration places??? :2thumbs:

They are EXPENSIVE!

Perhaps but they do fantastic work. They restored the pad from my 70 R/T and it was a work of art.

Which repro pads were you warned against? PG Classic typically makes good-fitting parts from what I understand and they make dash pads for 68s. http://moparplus.com/product_info.php?cPath=63&products_id=921 I seriously doubt Just Dashes can refurbish one for less than PG Classic sells them new.

It depends on what they're doing for you. Dash pads are probably ok but I wouldn't want them messing with upper door pads.

I don't know about '68's but the '69-'70 b body dash pads were pretty universal.

I've came across several nice ones at wrecking yards specializing in the old iron.  Prolly in good shape since we don't see a lot of sun up here.

I stated 69-70 pads were universal, (meaning several models throughout those years). 
I didn't know about 68's meaning I don't know if any other model shares the same pad that year like in 69-70.

It depends on what they're doing for you. Dash pads are probably ok but I wouldn't want them messing with upper door pads.

Well I can speak from experience, the dash pad restoration that Just Dashes did for me was not "probably ok"...it was fantastic.

just throwing information out there...    the 1969 and 1970 pad are pretty much universal - however the 1968 pad is very different -  it is a lot thinner than the later 69-70 pads...      I do believe they are swappable from any B-body through their respective years   :2thumbs:
