I need some guidance if some of you paint guys know. I am doing my car in VC Orange. I went to get some paint for the back side of the fenders and the like and looked at the paint mix. I was under the impression that VC Orange was a non metal flake/metalic paint. I thought Hemi Orange was the metallic orange. I was using PPG Paint and both mix ratios for VC and Hemi used the same metallic component. The paint looks right except for the metallic aspect. I guess the bottom line is VC supposed to have a metallic finish. I was planning on just having it mixed w/o the metal.

Thanks

Vit C does infact have very fine metalic in the mix. It gives a very faint goldish hue in the sun.

You can kinda see it in the 2nd pic (as compared to the first) of this real A12 RR We did a couple years ago.

Yeah, both the orange colors have slight metallic in them.

I like it that way.  It's hard to see but it subtly affects the look.

Is that Vitamin C the same color as the Hemi Orange being used on current production Chargers and Challengers?

That I don't know, The Road Runner in the pic is an original Vitamin C car so that's what we sprayed it.

I think the newer color (if I'm think of the same one) is redder though. :scratchchin:

I thank you for the info. Standard mix it is. I just wanted to be sure after going through all the work. It threw me off as I was thinking no metalflake. Now I can get the right amount for the back side panels, floorboards and underside. I appreciate the info. Take Care.
