Does anyone here know where i can get the bolts for the exhaust headers,  I am talking about the ones that look like they have a sleeve on them.

The sleeve type nuts that they use on big block pick-up and mainly hi-po manifolds you can get through Year one, I think they have two different lengths.

$90.00 for the hole set at year one, but many other places carry the sets as well.

I am pretty sure that you can get them at A&M High tech auto.  Bill is one of the members here as well. :yesnod:

Are sleeve nuts necessary?  I got some HP manifolds off CL, but no nuts...

yep need the sleeve nuts unless you want to put that many washers on before the nut , as they pass through the manifold ,  as there is cast hole in them

R/T specialties has them as well. You need to have them to install the manifolds properly.

Does every stud need one?  Yearone said you typically need 2...   I'm guessing per side

God lord Year One prices blow! Granted their kits has the bolts and nuts to attach the h pipe to the manifolds. I dont think those four bolts and nuts as worth 50 bucks! I buy NOTHING from Year One anymore.

I have removed the stud and put a 3/8 bolt and washer on the spots that needed those. worked great. :Twocents:

I found a complete exhaust manifold set on Ebag for $50, shipping included.  Worked out to, cuz the seller was local, so I got it next day.  And even better, I had a stud that was bent; so good thing I got the whole set!  The stud is a little shorter than what's currently on the head now though.

A cheap and easy way if you work in a machine shop just take 9/16 hex bar stock, cut to the length you need and turn the od down till its round except for about 3/8 of an inch on the end and then drill out the other end and tap the id for fine thread 3/8.

maybe I'm just slow, but I can't get a wrench or a socket on the short sleeve nut because the steering shaft is in the way!  Any special procedure to tighten it?
