Jon, are you going to call the previous participants to remind them?  I know you must have the number of every Charger owner in the great northwest.    Bob

Of course Bob, I do that every year. I've decided to make the calls in the first part of August, so people can mark on their calendars that they just turned over from July.

I've also been handing out those flyers in person to people, and I just spent $30 on two classified ads, one for the Spokesman review that will run 3 days (fri, sat, sun) a week before the meet, and the other in the Nikel's worth that covers all of north idaho and the spokane area that will run a week. Both will run in the "classic autos for sale" section and look something like this...

FREE DODGE CHARGER
meet. August 21, Dishman Dodge
7700 E. Sprague, Spokane. 1PM to 3PM.
This free event is open to the public.
All Chargers are welcome no matter
the condition. No entry fee or signup
required.

;D

I had them put up flyers around the showroom and parts counter at Dishman Dodge, and also they said they can put ads up for it in their large Dishman Dodge adspace in the newspaper, and they will also run it on the big electronic billboard that faces appleway and park for everyone driving by to see it.

Dishman sounded familiar so I looked at the original paperwork for the 72 - what do you know - SOLD at Dishman Dodge, Jan 8, 1973, for $4,464.70!

:yesnod:

I have a race the 28th, but I'm gonna try like hell to be ready enough to go to Spokane the week prior.

Are there any other functions other than 1-3PM?

Is there a group meeting on the West side to make the journey together - and where?

Mike, With the way your car is set-up, you could make it here in about 3 hours.  We usually have a nice 50-100 mile cruise after the get-to-gether.  I'll see you there.   Bob

Bob took us on a nice cruise in 2002, up through nine mile, along the spokane river, then to a nice park below Long Lake Dam. Then south down 231 to Reardan, and then back east through airway heights.

Would be a perfect cruise to do the same one this year, just the opposite direction. There's only 4-5 stoplights the whole way, from the dealership to the park.

Jon, we cruised out there a couple of weeks ago and the place was almost deserted.  Nice and peaceful.  It's like nobody in Spokane even knows the place exists.  Bob

I remember that day too, I have the white '66 Charger in the park pics (its now red). My car isn't in the gas station pictures because I didn't want to get gas at that station at $1.47 because I thought it was WAAYY too expensive!

:haha:

I called that guy north of Spokane with the immaculate '68 Hemi Charger 4 speed today, and he said he'd bring it down for its debut. Said he just had to put the windshield wipers on.

Called a bunch of other local Charger people as well.

So far I've personally talked to or notified about 50 local Charger owners about the Spokane Charger meet. Still have about 10 to talk to.

Combined with the ads in the classic autos section in the Spokesman Review (huge distribution), the Nikel's Worth (68,000 distribution), and the posting on the moparts message board, the Spokane Muscle Mopars messageboard, this messageboard, in the Inland NW Car Club Council's Events Calendar, and the flyers I've got out there to people and put up at the dealership itself, we should have a ton of Chargers there!!

Here are a couple pictures from the 2003 Inland NW Charger Meet at Dishman Dodge. This year we'll all be parked in front of the brand spanking NEW dealership, not the old one in these pictures. The new dealership is just a tad to the west of the old one.

Should have a guy with food and hot dogs there too.

That's too bad Bob. You're like the one guy I can always count on to show up. Try and keep happy in that dismal place you're going to!
