Part Identification: Brace from engine to transmission

This is a picture of my old engine + transmission. It has a brace running from the engine to the transmission on the passenger side. You can see it right under the oil gasket.

Is this a common brace and do I need to transfer it to my new motor? I can't find any info on it.

All my 318's had the brace.  It helps the engine/tranny together.   Engine torque and twisting...
Yes, I know there are other bolts, too.  However, the engineers thought it would help. 

IMO ,  transfer it with your new engine..

Both sides? It doesn't seem like there would be romm on the driver side with the starter.

yes, the brackets are not the same so it mounts to the lower starter bolt if my memory is correct.  :scratchchin:

Because more of the SB bellhousing hangs below the block than the BB it was thought that the braces were needed to stabilize it, they were still used way up into the nineties.
