How are your motor belts run?

As of right now we can not figure out how to run a belt to the alternator... any suggestions?

Miller, you have the incorrect alternator bracket and waterpump pulley. The crank pulley might also be incorrect but i can't see it in the pics.

Is that a smog pump beneath the alternator ?

Beneath the alternator is just a freewheeling pulley, i think it is a tensioner. All the parts are from a 1970 new yorker that was an air car (i took the air off)

Would napa have the parts?

you need the A/C compressor to run that pulley set up - The two grooves in the crank pulley go around the alt, crank, and A/C compressor...

the correct bracket will bolt to this hole on the water pump and you will need the really long bolt for the end with the alternator that goes to the end of the head

Also the idler pulley won't be used on a non-AC engine.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.
