When I joined this site, I was strictly a '69 guy. Knew of '68s and '70s but NEVER knew of the other years of Chargers. This website definitely opened me up to the other years of Chargers. Like, after hanging out on this website, I really love '71s now. :yesnod:

Pretty much a '69 only guy here..  then 68... then 70...   :Twocents:

As the name implies, I'm a fan of the Dodge Charger, and I like them all:
0.5 gen (Dart Package)
1st gen (the next car on my list to obsess over)
2nd (I have a 69)
3rd gen (I had a 73)
4th gen (always searching for a smoking deal on a 'doba Charger)
5th gen (I want a turbo'd one)
6th gen (I have an 07)

six-tee-nine

I was familiar with all gen's when I got here first time.... I never was a fan of the first and third gen and not even the 70 drew my attention....
Nowadays I would take a 70 over a 68 but overall the 69 stays the absolute top

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Yep, I like all the years too I guess, but favor the 68, 69, 70.

I've always liked the 2nd gen Charger and have only had the one I have now. I do like the 3rd Generation and have had 3 of those. I've had more Dusters than I can remember, and have really been getting the itch to have another one since I've been hanging around here. Now I just gotta find one that I can fit into my budget that doesnt take away from my 68 fund.

I always liked all of the 2nd gen's with my favorite being the 68's. They are all I have owned! I did like the 1st gens as well. I remember many years ago that our nickname for the 3rd gen's was "Suckerfish Charger". Sorry guys but at that time they were just not the "in" thing to buy, at least in my neck of the woods. 25 years later I have as much appreciation for them as any of the other years and have seem many that are especially nice, particularly on this site. I would love to own one of each if I could.

Like some of the other members, I liked Chargers before this site existed, or even before there was an internet. I had my first '69 back around 1981. I mostly like the '69 model & only have a '68 by default.

I don't dislike other years, I just tolerate them.

I remember when the '71's came out.  I thought that they had destroyed the Charger.  Now I think 3rd generations are kinda cool.  But come to think of it, almost any older car would be cool compared to most of what's on the road now.   Bob

Back when I was a young lad in the late 60's early 70's I thought the 1st Gen Charger was one ugly beast, and that the 3rd Gens were just an insult to the Charger line. If you were a young impressionable fella back then, as most of us are at that age , you probably felt much the same way. The 68 was the only real Charger and everyone knew it. Ahhhh to be young, dumb, naive and immature again. It wasn't long before I began to realize however, that some of the coolest cars I was seeing out there didn't roll off the assembly line looking this way at all. It took some monkey with a wrench, a torch, and a lot of artistic imagination to come up with these cool, wild looking beasts. I guess that's when the notion finally started to sink in that any car could look cool... it was just a question of imagination. Oddly enough, it had never really occurred to me that all those cool custom rods that I had grown up with and admired so much, had all started out as Grandmothers Old Betsy... They were just really cool cars... I never really thought about where they came from.

The 2nd Gen. Chargers looked drop dead gorgeous coming off the showroom floor, as did many car lines back in the hay day... but some of the coolest and most unique cars back then, were and still are today, rolling out of peoples imaginations and into their garages.

Has this web site opened my eyes to other years of Chargers?... Nope... my eyes were opened many years ago, when cool cars were everywhere.

Well Don, the thing I hear is about the Chrome loop Bumper but i think it looks cool! Ill admit, I dont know too much about the 2nd gen's but wasnt 70 the only? year the 6 pack was availible? (along with the High impact Colors?) another thing I like about 70's is the RT door "scoopes"? I will say this about the 2nd gen's they have a "Toughness"
About them that's just hard to put into words but i think you know what i mean?

Yes and no.  I've always liked all years of the Charger but I have been pretty vocal about the newest one quite often.  My main beef with the car was always the styling of it which is obviously a personal taste issue but I have always felt that the Charger was a well styled car suitable for each era of it's existence except this one.  Originally I hated the four door business too but probably because of this site I did get over that part.  I begrudgingly accept it as a Charger but I still can't get over the styling.
Strangely enough, the 4th and 5th gen Chargers don't bother me at all so go figure?

The70RT

I guess the 3rd. gens have somewhat grown on me. I dont care for the plane jane cars though. I like the R/T, Super Bee & the Rallye. I kinda always liked the 1st gens. All the other years I don't care for. They just carried on the name because they knew some would still maybe think it was a Charger.

i used to only like the 2nd gens, but i got a 71 rt sixpack years ago and that car really grew on me.incidently i sold it to buy a 68.i picked up a 66 6 yrs ago and now i really appreciate them too.currently i have a 66,68,69,70.i would like to someday have another 71 rt again too.

69_500

I had to answer no, because I've been aware of all the generations since a child. Still only choose to pay very close attention to a few, and then in those cases its not even the entire year. I do like other years than just the 69 Charger 500 and Daytona's, but those are always going to be the cream of the crop to me.
