Here's a bit of good news for Seattle fans: NFL FACTOID
Streaking Shaun: Seattle Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander leads the NFL with 17 rushing touchdowns -- the most by a player in a season's first nine games in history. Alexander's 17 total touchdowns ties Pro Football Hall of Famer Jim Brown (Cleveland, 1958) for the most in a season's first nine games.

Dodgeboy, anytime you want, just head south on HighSchool Road to Southport road. Head east, and I'm in the first neighborhood right there.

There are 2 more Chargers on High School Road between me and you as well.

This entire year is defining for this team, they should have gone deep in the playoffs for several years now.
I like Holmgren, but he's gone if it doesn't happen this year.

you know what they say...a win is a win.....even if the only reason the seahawks won is because feely blew 3 field goals in a row

That Giants kicker might be selling furniture next year at this time. Wasn't he the one that blew their game last week against the Redskins?

ck1

The news today from the NFL to the Seahawks was that both those touch downs the Giants made the refs blew the calls on the instant replay so the seahawks should have won that game 21 to 6.   I was listening to the game on the radio so i didn't see them although i hear both touch downs by the Giants they were saying on the radio that the receivers didn't have both feet down before the one went outa bounds or when the other the ball was knocked loose from that Shockley receiver from the Giants ???   pretty unheard of the have the NFL to announce that to the public, they must have really goofed up?

Whether the NFL or fans like it or not the refs make the calls. It's not all that unheard of for them to do that but it's also a waste of time. Monday morning refereeing is about as useful as Monday morning quarterbacking. I don't know about the stripped or bobbled ball but I saw the one play where the Giants receiver dragged his foot in the end zone for the TD and I would have called it 6 points too.

i got this off of a site you might have heard of .....nfl .com

NFL denies apologizing to Seahawks for calls

The following is a statement from the NFL regarding a report that the league had contacted Seattle head coach Mike Holmgren about two erroneous calls on replays by referees leading to two Giants touchdowns in Week 12.

"The report that the NFL informed the Seahawks of officiating mistakes on two Giants touchdown receptions is inaccurate. Our officiating department never discussed with the Seahwaks the Amani Toomer touchdown reception, which was properly called. The Jeremy Shockey touchdown catch at the end of the first half was not overturned because the referee determined that there was insufficient visual evidence to reverse the call."

now im not a giants , or a hawks fan....but i watched the game, and the only bad calls i seen hurt the giants not helped them....

they are thinking on fining Holmgern to,  i think the did call him and told him they blew some calls he just wasn't suppose to tell the public, only one call looked iffy to me..............why would he lie about it the Seahawks won the game? no since in complaining about the calls unless you lost the game or make up a story the NFL called him..............which I know BULL its all moot but still interesting to watch a coach and NFL stick there foot in there mouths,  I don't know if I like instant reply anymore, disrupts the flow of the game.  They should just look at the blown calls at the end of the year and fire the bozo refs that make stupid calls, but I guess they already do that something like 20% of the refs they let go each year or maybe thats the NBA ???

I do think that the Refs blew the call on the Jeremy Shockey touchdown. He never came close to getting both feet down, before the ball was knocked loose from his hands.

The last touchdown call was a close one. And since the video evidence never showed if he did or didn't get both feet in bounds, you have to stick with the call of the ref. However they blew the first touchdown call.

I know, thats kinda weird but if you think about it a running back alls he has to do is cross the endzone line with possession of the ball, he doesn't have to have his feet in so why would it be any different then a receiver? just as long as he catches it in a fraction of a second and the ball crosses the end zone line...right ???

dodgeboy67

actually...a receiver doesnt need to get either foot in  he just has to get any two parts of his body down and maintain possesion the whole time

i only seen one botched call and it benefitted the seahawks.....

there was no conclusive proof that shockeys foot wasnt down....i have dvr , and i rewinded it over and over from 3 angles.....the refs were right

as for the other "QUESTIONABLE" call...it sure looked like a td to me as well

once again , im not a seattle fan or a giants fan....just calling it like i seen it

i dont really see why this is such a big deal.......a win is awin, and if im not mistaken, the seahawks managed to win

ok, i take that back....the seahawks didnt win....the giants lost....3 missed game winning field goals....and keep in mind that feely is one of the better kickers in the league

WHAT THE HELL?????....ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS KICK??????????

the seahawks should just consider this lucky, thy shouldve lost 3 times the same day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its not really a big deal, I just don't know the rules very good so just courouse really on how the refs calls it the way it is, very confusing to me, guess i need to get a football rule book so i know whats going on :icon_smile_shy:

I have watched the replay time and time again. I am by no means a Seattle fan either, I'm a Dolphins fan, so it makes no difference to me who won that game. But I don't think that Jeremy ever got a second foot down before the ball was knocked out. I think his foot hit the ground but that the ball was already out of his hands by that time.

To the other person it is completely different than a RB or anyone else just putting the ball accross the goal line. Due to the fact that they have already established control of the ball before then, and then the ball crosses the goal line. He never established control of the ball in my opinion. But the ref saw it otherwise.

Steelman

I agree,Shockey TD was no good, but the Toomer TD was.
It's all in vain anyway,G-Men lost.

Poor Eagles, i bet its not going to be very much of a good match up when the Colts game comes around on, "what is it Christmas's eve?" because by then  both teams will have home feild advantage in the playoffs that they will be resting key plays that it will proably besides the first quarter, a second string game...............but I'm getting ahead of myself........ soooooo who's Seahawks next victim.....ER I mean team the Seahawks play play?  :icon_smile_big: LOL still think the chickens are getting lucky............

So Afflyer where are you from then? I live in the indy area, and don't see too many Chargers floating around here.

And just curious but you say you were a Colts fan since the age of 12? How many years before they came to indy was that?

Sorry for the slow reply 69 500.

I'm just an Indiana farmboy from Muncie- born and raised.   My folks still live in the same house that I was raised in since I was born; 1966!   I left Muncie when I was 22 and left for the Air Force.   I've been abroad ever since- now living in Milton, Florida (near Pensacola).

As far back as I can remember, my first NFL team I supported was the Miami Dolphins when I was a wee-lad of five, because as I would say "dolphins are friendly"!   Hey- just remember, I was five then.   That was back in '71.   When I was in third grade (1974), I sported a #32 jersey because O.J. Simpson became my hero.   I supported the Buffalo Bills by default because of "The Juice", but only for a short period of time.   As I watched the O.J. Simpon murder trials a few years back, all I could do was shake my head in amazement as I recalled my childhood idol.

I think I was around ten years old (1977) when baseball became my thing and I fell in love with that smiling Oriole on the baseball cap.   I supported the Orioles from that point.   Since the Colts were in the same town as my Orioles, I began supporting them too, based on that fact.

So, as I look back in my childhood, I can say I've been a Colts fan since 1977 when I was ten!!!   I dropped the support of the Orioles as I don't watch baseball at all- I'd rather watch golf on TV or watch paint dry on a wall.   I do love my Colts though and have been with them all of these years.   When the Colts moved from Baltimore to Indy literally in the middle of the night, back in 1984 (when I was 18), I stood on top of my house and danced a jig!!!!   My beloved Colts would only be an hour away!!!!

In my family, those of us that follow the NFL have loved and admired a specific team for years and years.   My father loves the Browns, my younger brother is a die hard Broncos fan.

So that's my story and I'm sticking to it!  GO ALL THE WAY COLTS- IT'S TIME!!!!

Thanks for the update. Glad to know that at least there are a few fans who cheered for the colts before 3 seasons ago. I can recall many times going to the Colts games in the 80-90's and even until about 2002 and there would be as many opposing fans in the stadium as Colts fan's. Now when the Dolphins come to town it was always a sea of Aqua in the stands not a sea of Blue.

hey Brad...did you see my boy's TD on a 60 yd fumble return? :icon_smile_big:

Indianapolis Colts Larry Tripplett, left, watches his 60-yard fumble-return for a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans on the big screen in Indianapolis, Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005. Indianapolis defeated Tennessee, 35-3. Also watching are Raheem Brock, center, and Montae Reagor.

Mojo- I'm sorry to say that I missed that particular touchdown.   By that time in the game, CBS had unexplicably broke from the Colts game to the Steelers/Bengals game.   My guess is that at the time, it was well into the third quarter and the Colts were up 21 to 3.   CBS kinda assumed that it was a victory for the Colts already and elected to switch without saying why.

Naturally, I would have preferred to see my winning Colts for the entire game, but I'm not a CBS executive and I'm at their mercy down here in the Florida panhandle market.

I don't think the same thing will happen NEXT Sunday though, considering it's a Florida team that the Colts play at in Jax.

I'm not so worried about the Jags as much as I am about the Chickenhawks.

I would have loved to see that fumble return for a touchdown though- it sure looked good in the highlites from ESPN.

C'MON COLTS- YOU CAN DO IT!!!
