What do you think about the blower coming out the hood?

It looks way overkill! Also, why is it angled like that? DId somebody forget what crossmembers are for?

I can dig it, but then again it's not really a DOH GL with that sticking out of the hood, so I guess really don't know how I feel about it. But, it's not my car so... :2thumbs:
It gets some cool points for sure. :icon_smile_cool:
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

moparsons

I don't think it looks right on a general. That being said...it's your car and it does certainly add a "WOW" factor.

Don't really care for GL's, especially when people tell me to paint my 68 orange with 01 on it. On other hand, maybe if I was living down south....

You really should read what the topic is before you spout off a slam towards GL's ......He was asking a question about the looks of a blower!

My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

Its a GL. There are so many interpretations of a GL that just about any orange car qualifies.I think there was one in the first season with a blower on it(even if it had a general mistake engine).Anything that keeps Chargers popular helps keep them on the road.

BlaineKaiser450

i think that blowers look rediculus (sp?) on pretty much any car

weird on that GL but fine on most other cars...generally looks sweet on camaros...i personally dig the shotgun scoop a ton

however...

I personally find the GL look already a bit too much for my taste as they are so with a blower it's definitely overkill to me.

Don't like the blower on the General Lee.

From the Portland Roadster show earlier this year.  How on earth do you dial those carbs?  I was trying to see if some of them were just for looks.

captnsim

Overkill and badly done. Paint the wheel wells, and behind the grill black. Put the right size push bar on. Install a roll bar. And for gods sake put a transmission in the car before showing it!!!

bigcountry

Overkill, there's something about the car as a whole (GL) that doesn't look right.
Cut to size, Beat to fit, Paint to match.

No carbs with that setup...fuel inj. All mapping...lots of computer time. Or straight mechanical inj...lots of timing.

the rear wheels are also to wide arn't they? just an observation but I thought the general had the same size on all 4 wheels. The blower would be fine but it looks like your engine is angled like my cummins(in my 92 dodge it's angled like 15 degrees or so to fit in the truck)

1969chargerrtse

I would never do it ( and can't afford to do it ).  But I always thought it was kinda cool.

Back in the 70's my buddy had a 427 Nova with a blower and 2 carbs.  The car had a whisper quiet exhaust and I was raking the leaves in our front hard looking down when I heard this weird air sucking sound, and there is my buddy with the nova and blower.  It was funny hearing all the air sucking coming from a car.  I remember asking him what he got for MPG and he said 10 gallons to the mile.  :hah:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

jb666

I didn't start this because I liked it, or wanted to do it to my own car.. I just wanted to see what others thought.. When I first looked at it I said (Thinking old-school) WOW, that's cool!! A buddy of mine looked at it and said "What an abomination, why would he do that?!?!"

:drool5:  awesome stuff ..especialy a blown elephant motor ...  :drool5: :drool5: :drool5:  ........ would not have it poking through my hood though ... well for a while  :yesnod:  , but prefure a second generation looking stock  :coolgleamA: :Twocents:

I guess that explains my confusion.  I didn't even know you could do that.  :slap:  I thought they were buried in the scoops?

Personally not my taste - I would say overdone.
