We had the Charger out for a cruise yesterday when it stalled. Tried to start it and as soon as it turns over and I let go of the key she dies???
Any ideas guys...it's electronic ignition  :shruggy:

Could be the ignition switch harnessĀ  :scratchchin: Check the connection where it plugs into the dash harness.

mine is doing the same thing, as soon as it starts it dies. to keep it running it is at to high of rpm's, i think the problem with mine is the choke, might be the same for yours
life's a garden, dig it.

I had that happen to me and it turned out to be the ballast resistor.

 :iagree:

While cranking, the ballast resistor is bypassed. Then when you let go of the key, in the run position, the resistor is back in the circuit. To make sure that is your problem, jumper the 2 wires together on the ballast resistor. If it starts and runs, that's your problem.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.

Yep, the ballast resistor.

Another vote here for the ballast resistor. I carry a spare in both Chargers.

:iagree:  I also carry a spare starter relay.  :2thumbs:

Almost definitely the ballast. I carry two spares in the trunk. I had it happen on my Charger once.

The all time classic ballast symptom.

ok so I'm really delayed on letting ya'll know what the problem ended up being...sorry  :-\
After checking regulator & ballast resistor all seemed fine so we followed through the wires and found a split in our wires...so simple, of course.
Thank you all so much for your advise  :2thumbs:

Bad news . You need two ballast resistors. One to fix,one for a spare to put in the glove box.

Or get an MSD.
I guess I've been lucky because in 30 years of driving Mopars I have only had one ballast resistor fail on me.

Which wire was split?

It's original wiring still...we have to redo all the wiring one day!
Maybe when the economy gets a little better.
If I remember correctly, it was one from the regulator
