I need some help. I am getting ready to send my tranny out to be rebuilt. Where can I find the tranny numbers? Also is there anything else I should be aware of? Thanks in advance Dom

You should contact this guy for a tranny rebuild first, that's my advice.

His name is Jamey H. (RD) profile below.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

thanks mike!  your numbers are located in two different places, on the pan rail (right above the trans pan) on the drivers side of the transmission (right below the shifter lever, and on the passenger side bellhousing on a "pad".  Now dependent on the year of your transmission, you may have a full VIN stamp on that pad or just the serial number of the vehicle.

the first set will tell you the year, body style of vehicle, and what engine the transmission was built to sit behind.

the passenger side set will provide you with a direct numbers matching component to the vehicle it was built for.
