Some stereos won't play burnt CD's. Sorry.

Does your car play mp3's? If not your Cd's won't play. Also some CD decks will not play wma's (windows media audio files) but will play mp3's so you may need to change the format when you rip a CD to mp3. WMP default is to rip in wma format. WMP help section will take you through switching the settings.  For songs already in your computer you need to use a file converter to switch them to mp3. Hope this helps!

yep it varies from player to player, i have 5 different CD players and some play all and some don't.. quite annoying isn't it,.. some times signals are incoded in the tracks to prevent piracy, copying of tracks... it's a hit and miss business i'm afraid, and sometimes very frustrating...  :RantExplode:

Make sure you aren't burning them to the CD in MP3 or any Windows (computer) format. Your car CD player likely needs them in WAV format which means you'll probably only get 12-15 songs on a disc (just like music CDs that you buy).

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I have a Sony CD recorder that records on to Music CD-Rs. Works great. Fits between 19 and 22 songs on a disk. I bought it back in about 2004 and it still works perfectly. I've made tons of mix CDs that I shuffle through the changers in my cars.

Like Wingy said, it all depends on the player. My PS2 (Playstation 2) dosen't play burnt CD's. My mom's car plays some of the CD's but not others for some reason. My old CD walkman is picky about them too.

Windows plays wav files. All the sounds you hear from your computer are wav files.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WAV

Windows Media player, Winamp, and even AOL Instant Messenger will all play them. "Many AIM users are not aware to the fact that they can use every file in .wav (sound) format as their buddy sounds of choice and should not limit themselves to the options offered over at the AOL website."

I would suggest using a different music format, like itunes.
