I am sure that there are other body shops across the 48 that are affected by the economy.  A friend of mine, John, owns a body shop here in Missoula, MT.  He needs customers so that he can pay his bills.  If you live nearby please call John at Definitely Unique Autobody at 406-728-9119.  He has over 20 years experience and he is fast, good and will work with you.

the shop thats doing my bird is swamped! He's looking for at least two techs and ready to advertise nationwide looking for them.

It's like that everywhere it seems....however, the body shops here are acting and charging $ like they are turning people away!
