anyone know what a 73 mach 1 mustang is worth??

hey! i know this is MOPAR country but does anyone know if a 73 mach 1 mustang is worth much? the car runs and drives good. original 351. still needs interior,some body work and paint. guy wants to trade me for my 94 chevy duell four wheel drive 454. it's in good shape too. would it be worth it or aren't the 73's very popular?

Which 351? A Windsor or Cleveland? '73 Mach 1's are a great looking car, but I think a Hoverround wheelchair could outperform a stock one, they had no balls!

About the same as a '69 Charger, but slightly less. And of course conditions change the price's. If it has the 351SCJ (Super Cobra Jet), that was the best engine for the year. 4spd's are worth more too of course. I love them. I like '73 and older Mustangs as much as Chargers. I used to have a '73 Mustang too.

it's pretty much a plain jane mach 1. not sure which motor is in it...it is a 351..auto..

My buddy had a fully loaded one.  It took a long time to sell.  I don't care for them much myself.  Few 73 anythings are worth much compared to the 67/72 Muscle cars, and that had the silly flat rear window thing going on. I don't think they are worth about the same as a 2nd Gen Charger.  I would check EBay, Hemmings etc for the average price.

i pretty much have to agree with you. i was just wondering if i would have a better time sellling it than the duelly i have for sale. can't give these trucks away but i thought about trading the guy and then selling the mustang. i'm not a fan fan either of the 73's...

lol come on now i know you were joking. a 73 mach 1 isn't worth anywhere near what a 69 charger is worth. in my opinion the 71-74's are super ugly. that back window is practically flat, if it weren't for the 75+ pinto mustangs these would have to be the ugliest ever

Yea, by 1973 the old gray mare had hit the feed bag pretty hard, and ballooned as a result. Their rear window was nick-named the "mail slot." Unless it's packing an SCJ, and possibly a 4spd, keep your truck and wait. My

I still own a few classic mustangs, but could never really get into a 1973 Mach 1 (I prefer the 1971 versions more for obvious reasons).  My preference for a mustang of that year would have been a convertible, as they stopped making first gen mustang convertibles that year.  The 1973 mustang is basically the red headed stepchild of the first generation (1964 1/2 to 1973) mustangs.  They were missing the high compression engines of the 1971 model year, which hurts their appeal to alot of people.  (Some Boss 351 engines were dropped into 1972 Mustangs as a 351 HO package, making them the last of the real performance first gen mustangs.  They are worth $$$ if you find one.)  Basically, the Mach 1 package at that point in time was basically just a graphics/options package rather than a performance model.  The 1973s are worth some money being the last of the first gens, but with the way the car market is, I would be very cautious about doing the trade unless you have it already sold.  If it is fairly rust free, complete and drivable, it should be in the $5-7,000 range.  If it has the 351-4bbl. ram air package and the rear spoiler, that adds to the price a bit.  I have seen a few people take the 1973 grille off and swap with a 1971-2 version so that it would sell quicker to an uninformed buyer that was thinking it was a performance 1971 version.....

this one is pretty much the bare version. nothing exotic. it still needs the interior redone,some body work the guy sort of FORGOT to tell me about. nothing real bad. but it needs painted still and little things. i was thinking i could sell it quicker than my duelly. honestly i think they are down right ugly! ive looked at a few on screw-bay that werent going for much at all and they were retored cars!!

I was at a car auction last year and a decent looking one silver with black stripes, nice red interior, 351 console auto sold for 6500 Canadian. I am not sure of the year but it was the James Bond body style. The prices at that auction IMO were going fairly high on most things!
