lower shifter linkage bracket - how does it mount?

For reference, I'm talking about this bracket:

Basically, my shifter linkage rod is just hanging down right now, so shifting just moves the rod around instead of actually shifting the transmission.  .  I'm pretty sure this is the bracket that I need to hold the bottom of the rod, but I can't seem to find where it bolts up.  Does anyone have a picture of one of these mounted?  I'm looking on a 3rd gen, but my guess is the other gens probably mount to the same place?

There are 2 ears on the bottom on the transmission that it bolts to. I can get pics later if you need them.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.

I can also get a pic if i get some time tonight  :2thumbs:

I guess I need pics if anyone can get them, I've looked at it forever and just can't find them!  Is there any chance some transmissions might not have the right ears?  It's definitely a 727, but I have no idea what it originally came from....  So MUCH thanks in advance guys!!  If I still can't find it I'll get some pics tonight, but my internet has been down for days now (AT&T has been out 3 times trying to fix it...), so it may be tomorrow at work before I can check or post it if they don't get it fixed today...

Here's the pic. I've read that some transmissions didn't come with those cast in to them (maybe RV trannys??).  If yours doesn't have those, there is a hole on the left rear pan mounting surface that you can bolt a fabbed up bracket to (strip of metal with holes in it). The previous owner did that with my car, I guess they were too cheap to buy the right bracket or coulnd't find one at the time.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.

Trucks don't have the mounting bosses, here's the layout.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Yeah, I definitely don't have those.  Oh well, good thing I'm not restoring :)  I had thought about fabbing up a bracket, but since I *had* the right one I was trying to avoid it.

Anyway, thanks guys, that's exactly what I needed to know :)
