Last year we put the driveway in too.  Everything fits and it is nice to have it all at home.

You know...something seems a little out of place here... :scratchchin:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

You need one more choice there Cody. Mine's a YeMeh.
I love my shop/garage but as previously mentioned, you can always use more storage space.
Another problem with a big garage, relatives will ask to store some items there temporarily. My brothers junk has been in there now for four years. And that piece of crap metal shed is my bro-in-laws, again will only be there a short time. That piece of trash has been in my back yard for six years. The shed roof collapsed this past winter and I'm sure my bro-in-laws prized collection of porn is ruined. Of course he's in Florida mooching of his sister and has no clue this has happened.

Sure. You can have the shed AND the porn collection  :D

Mauve. I'm a builder. Except for the concrete work and paying two of my employees $ 1,100.00 to help frame and roof it I did everything myself. It took me three years from the start of clearing the land to building the workbench in the shop. I also store a lot of my tools in there. The work shop area is also used for woodworking projects besides working on cars.

You need a Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II and a Charger 500. Then you will have every aero car ever made. :D

paironines

I'm in the process of removing the back wall from my garage to gain access to the other room back there which was the old garage turned into living space. Now, all garage!

69*F5*SE

I've got a 20x24 and it is definitely not enough space for all my tools, parts, car etc.    :brickwall:

Actually the car on the far end is a Spoiler II, Dan Gurney Special.  It's the Talladega and 500 we never got around to getting.    At one time that was the goal.  But with the Cyclone and Daytona to restore yet, I probably will never have all of them.

I need more space to put my parts in so they're out of the way. :yesnod:

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

ok now we are talking about parts stroage well let me see, Our pig barn is full of parts, under my bed is full, and in the rafters og the garage.

TeeWJay426

I've got two cars and a storage shed full of stuff crammed into a smallish two car garage. The path through the center is about all the room there is to move in it- no space to work on anything, no room to store anything else, if I sneeze in the center of it I'm bouncing off a car, a table saw, a tool box, or a lawnmower... so, I would have to vote NO!

I would have to say I am happy with my garage now,it used to be a 24x24 detached which I keep 3 cars in,not loaded up with parts, tools and such, because I have another garage/shop a couple miles from my house where I have it all set up for working in.(besides not making a mess at home).
Then I built an  addition on my house which is 30x44,connecting to the orig garage and to the house to make it all one, plus an 18'' steel I beam and all 16'' TJI joists so it is wide open , no columns in there. It is 2 floors, bottom adding more garage, and the top being all living space with the floor lined up to the orig second floor so it is just a walk into ,no stairs. This is what set my ceiling height in the new garage at 10',just enough to have a lift.Where 11' or more is ideal for having lifts, just at 10' you gotta be carefull!!!!
Now being that it is living space above the whole garage,I felt it should have some form of heat so we will not be above a cold garage,so the route I went was radiant floor heat to be the most efficient as once you heat that slab(which I made 6'' thick to retain it better),it holds the temp for a long time without calling on your heat source. Can't say enough how nice this is,and would recommend if anyone is building a new gargae and funds are there, put it in.I had my temp(slab)set at 57 all winter and at that you could be in there with just a normal shirt on,not to mention great for the cars!!!.Also ,I framed the building with 2x6's to get R-19 in the walls and my garage doors are 2'' thick Garaga doors rated at R-16 to help retain the heat.
I  put up a new 16' door to seclude the orig from the new just in case I want to work in the back and not get anything dirty in the new garage. Leaving it open makes it 68' deep,  currently have one 4 post lift so I can store one under,so it fits 8 cars comfortably, but later this year I am picking up a 2 post lift, also to park under, which now bumps me up to being able to keep 9 cars in.If you have the height it is a nice way to buy another space in your garage.
Always go bigger than you expect when building a garage,it is harder to add it again later.

75dartsport

mine aint bad i wish it was a bit bigger and had electric but its a good hiding place for the bird and the dart

i am however hoping the dart is going to be out soon as all this has just gone in

and this is what is was like when i first moved in

How are you on vertical space? Mine has a 10' ceiling & I decided that I could make use of some of the vertical space, so I built an "L" shaped loft to hold some of my large crap.

Since I don't use the garage to park any daily drivers in, the close tolerances of the loft aren't a problem. Yes, even the lawnmower is off the floor (center of the pic :D ).
What you can't see in the pic, is the three hoods, a truck bedside & assorted other things that are strapped to the ceiling. :icon_smile_tongue:

I do appreciate that I have a 2 car garage, but no garage is ever big enough.  If it is big enough, you do not have enough cars and or parts.

I used to believe that too...  but as I age and get tired of pushing the project cars around, I am working on a new theory...  :P

I built my Dodge Mahal about 11 years ago, but still do not have it set up like I want... but made good progress in the last few years.  Between setting up shelving, organizing, and selling inventory this shop IS going to big enough!
