This should be an interesting thread. Do you like your garage? I'm voting Meh. It could be better but it's decent I guess  In the summer, it's nice and cool but in the winter, it's freezing cold and the car gets frost on it.

Sublime/Sixpack

I'm happy with my garage, but a fourth bay would be nice, plus a full shop out back. Seems that theres never enough space no matter how much you have.

More cars than garage and a poor climate! Plus too  many parts = no space!

I will be happier once I start getting cars completed or sold. Time to make some decisions and dump some stuff!

I voted Meh since this is the first true garage Ive had.  2 car attached garage under my ranch home wife and I just bought last June.  So I really can't  complain since it is somewhat climate controlled with the forced hot air duct work going through it, radiates some heat and with the central air going through the same ducts, cools in the summer.  Downside is that it is not wide enough and the ceiling is only 6'6".

I don't have a garage.

Of course, I don't have a car anymore, either...
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Rolling_Thunder

I have a 2 car garage...   full of parts for 4 cars...     no room for the cars - but I do most of my evil genius work in there so I guess its alright...    the "other" garage is in the planning phase...    1/2 acre lot so we might be building a car garage across the back of our lot with parking for 6 cars and a work bay about the size of a normal 2 car garage    :D

there is no such thing as a big enough garage.... and the garage at my my house isnt even close. :brickwall:

I appreciate having my 2 car garage, but it's outside the house and not something that could ever be done up cool like.  Keeps the rain off the car, and that's all I ask.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Ghoste

Needs to be bigger and taller with climate control, hoist, more light, and more electrical outlets.

chargerkid01

I'm going to build a 50 X 40 or bigger hopefully soon cause we have a 4 car garage with only three bays and only one of them is concrete (charger bay) the rest is dirt!! It is always full and we have to work on cars out side!! It is only 24 x 48

69charger2002

i am happy with my building. it's HUGE, i just wish i could have built it taller with bigger doors, but i was building it on the cheap just wanted it big as possible. after getting opinions from many mopar guys. everyone's #1 gripe was lack of space. so i decided to buy SPACE, and sacrifice in other areas(small doors, no bathroom, not tall enough to put a car lift in, etc).. i'm happy though!  :2thumbs:

Ditto.

2-car attached garage is great, but since I took it over with tools, equipment, and car parts, it's just not enough.

Once I get the Charger back together, there will be more storage room, but still only two bays for cars...

There's really no way to make it bigger either. If I add on to the back, I'll cover up the side door to the house.
The roofline doesn't really allow for building up - besides, all I'd get out of that is more storage which is okay, but not worth the effort and money..

Nacho-RT74

actually I'm going to loose my parking place. The guy who is renting me the place will get a new car. Is still not oficial, but I'm expecting the owner tell me that soon.

So... Am I happy with my garage ? well... what's a garage ?

I don't think any car aficionado could ever have enough garage space.
I voted yes however, because I think having a 2 1/2 car garage attached to my house and a 1 car detached makes me very lucky!

i dont even have a garage yet :brickwall: but i hope to build one in the near futer so i guess i would be happy with anything that had four walls a roof and enough room so that i could just work on one of my cars :2thumbs:

I wasn't but I am now. I just spent 5 weeks (yes "weeks") moving all my junk to one location. Now I just need a lift and maybe a paint booth...

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

"meh" :wave:
I'm glad I have my little 1-13/16 car garage, but it's no way large enough for any serious tinkering. It's just a spot to store one Charger & 70% of my parts-n-crap.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

defiance

Now that I've got the engine, transmission, rear end, rear suspension, etc. all in t he car, and I'm about to move the engine stand, engine test stand, hoist, rear end, old exhaust, and other junk out, I have a feeling I'm about to be a LOT happier about the amount of space in mine :)  I've spent the past few months barely able to climb through it.  As soon as the car will move on its own I'm going to do a MAJOR cleanout.  Can't wait!!!

chargerhunter

All I know is when you think you can live with a 24x24, build at least a 48x48 and put a lift in with power to light up a small town! My shop/garage is just big enough for 1 car and spare parts and no room to work.

Aero426

I built a 36 x 22 in 2006, which was the largest I could go on my lot.   It's tight for me but considering many get by with a lot less, I cannot complain.     It got wired last year and has more outlets than I can use in and out,  ceiling fans, cable  and radiant tubes in the floor.    I am looking forward to insulating and drywalling it this year and spending some time out there.

Aero426

Last year we put the driveway in too.  Everything fits and it is nice to have it all at home.
