Yes you are.

My scans basically suck ass....and I've been trying to fix them up for about a year now.
What I really need to do is re-scan the mess.
But now (on a Moparts thread) another guy is volunteering to send Barry his copies of the same thing.
So maybe I'm off the hook?

Robin,
I missed that thread, so you are still on the hook for the  Landy stuff as far as I know.  ;)

If you are not being interviewed for a newspaper article THIS week, you should have time.    ;)

Ghoste

If he fails you for much longer I'll dig out mine and scan it.

I have not actually met Robin in person, so I do not know if he is red?

But, based on some on the cars he has spotted over the years & their locations, I ALWAYS assumed his eyes looked like that.   :scratchchin:

Actually...my eyes are the only part of me that isn't bulging!
Comparing the Landy Clinic pamphlet to that of the Sox and Martin one, there's a lot of common material there.
For whatever reason, my scanner put some funky lines into the images....which didn't add much to the overall effect.
Hence the need to rescan them...at another dpi. If somebody else has theirs already done, I'd have no problem with them stealing my thunder.
As well, since I've moved, my copy of the Landy brochure is still packed up - somewhere, in my house. I'm living a province away from it, in an apartment.

I've seen some of the photoshop stuff you did.
I think this is a equipment problem,Not the operator.

Actually, I've got a nice flatbed scanner. It scans negatives, slides and the regular stuff too.
I've noticed that if I don't set the scanning speed to the right medium I can and will get weird results, like the above.
When I set to "other" rather than "magazine", the scanner slows right down to a crawl, and I get fabulous results.
However, I picked the "magazine" setting, as I had 24 pages to do.
I tried to save time.
And got shitty results. :brickwall:

You can't really scan printing press-type photos because your layering pixels. Brochure photos are made of pixels and your scanner uses pixel technology to capture images so when you mix them together you get those funky lines and dots. Scanners work well with actual photos, not brochures, magazines and catalogs. That's why the text above looks fine (not pixelated) and the picture looks like crap.

Magnumcharger

Aye...which is why I should have used "other".... :2thumbs:
