I bought my charger and found the fenders had been replaced, no fender tag.  However, I did find the build sheet tucked in the springs of the back seat. Is there a way to get a fender tag made or repoduced from the information on the build sheet?

No not a Hemi Charger, that's my next car.  I was going to keep it a 440 with air and just change some options to personal preferences and add an SE package.

That is wrong on just so many levels.  You do get that part right?  Why would you not just add the options you want tomake the car your own and be happy with that?  Other than cheating somebody else down the line what possible reason could you have for wanting to make a fraudulent tag and pass the car off as something it isn't?

If you make a fake fender tag to reflect options that you add, it's dishonest. (to understate)

Hilarious.  I honestly hope they won't do it for you.  Examining it from another point of view, just suppose you paid big bucks for your car based on the options that were in the car and reflected in the tag and then you discovered the broadcast sheet and found that it didn't come with any of those options and the guy you bought the car from had basically lied to you and stolen some of your hard earned money.  Would having the correct engine be good enough for you then?

426HemiCharger

Your only half right. There was no buildsheet and the fender tag is a pile of red dust which is barely legible.  The car is believed to be a sales bank or dealer inventory car.  Low end options all the way around.

I said to imagine it happened that way.  I'm 100% right, what you are proposing is to fraudulently portray the car.  You have decided to lie to anyone who looks at your car and it's wrong.  There isn't a single argument you can come up with to defend your decision and make it okay.

Troy

Most places won't make you a fender tag without a build sheet or other evidence of what was originally on the car. You have to provide legitimate documentation for exactly the reason Ghoste stated.

Big deal. As someone that went through the grief of buying a car with a bad tag, there is no purpose to have an illegitimate tag made for a car other than fraud or pumping up your own ego because you think you 'have' to have one. Either reason is deceitful and casts serious doubt on the car's history or the intent of the owner. Fake tag cars are tainted cars; their owners are suspect.

Troy, there are people that will make tags without documentation. AMHIK.

having custom exhaust, paint, etc has nothing to do with a fender tag, this tag lists FACTORY items the car came with

even if you use a factory color, the tag will describe a car that magically appeared and the future buyer or even the 2nd future buyer will look at the tag and go "wow, this is 1 of 3 with this combination"
that is the problem, value is directly related to documented original equipment on a stock car and quality of work on a modified car,

Plus.... if the car was ever sold.... whether you point it out to the buyer or not... it could always come back to haunt you.  Everything would then be settled in court... which you would not win.  Even if you used the excuse "I'll never sell this car, so what does it really matter?"  Eventually, the car will change hands... if it is still around.  40 years from now, how would you know if it was a fake or not?  If you ever sold the car and was honest about the tag.... then that person sold the car and is still honest about the tag.... the next seller may not behonest.  And it will still come back to you.  I would just think about it before you actually do it.
