i finally received my decode sheet and copy of the microfiche ibm card
yes it cost $45 and the microfiche is hard IMPOSSIBLE to read but i figured with the auto maker situation who knows when they will yank the records to cut costs and they will be gone forever

1. don't take info on the decode sheet as gospel, they put my car as being sold new in Bellingham, Washington, L&L Dodge when i KNOW it was delivered and sold new in Denver, Dodge City Inc, having said that it is possible it was originally destined for Wash, but when it got to the Denver dealer they said said "hey, i want that one" of the hauler broke down and they just put all the cars off in Denver to cut costs or something.

2. the IBM card is hard IMPOSSIBLE to read, the print on the card is just too small and blurry.  however all of the punch outs are clear.  Does someone have an original card that we can get a copy of to read all the punches??  my car is by no means special or anything but since i have a very good record of the history (i just found some more info but thats another thread) of the car and anything else i can get would just make me happier.................. i know i know.......... who cares if i'm happy right?? especially Chuck right now since i was putting the kabosh on his "story" :pity: :pity:

anyway, has anyone ever tried to make some cards or at least print it out on a regular sheet of paper??  thanks

You could send me the microfiche and I could take it to the dealership here. They still have a microfiche reader and I could take a pic and send it back to you ?  :shruggy:

all they send is a photo copy of the microfiche, the more i blow this copy up the worse it gets.....................

That bites. Sorry, I wish I could help.

Hey Robert,

I run the 1966-67 Charger Registry. Send me a scan of what they sent you. I have the cards almost all the way figured out and should be able to decode most of it for you free of charge, no matter how blurry it is. I know what the majority of the punches mean.

just as with everything else with these cars....  anything can happen.  If someone wanted a certain car with a certain option, sometimes it was easier, and quicker to just get the car from another dealer.  My Dad told me stories of that happening a lot back in the day.  These days all the cars are the same so it doesn't matter !

Ken does an awesome job of decoding the cards,  he did mine awhile ago.

Chrysler sent me the copy of my card, along with about half a dozen 8x10 promotional shots of the 66 Charger.  Plus they only charged me $25 because of the "poor quality" of the copies.[/quote]

the above was a quote from another thread but didn't some across right

wish they would of thrown something else in with my poor copy

my car was built 12-23-65
arrived at the dealer 1-3-66, I don't believe they prepped it, took it all the way to Washington and back to Denver, over 2 holidays, in 12 days, not in the 60's with the slower trucks, union drivers, etc
(that's why i think the truck broke down or someone made a call to take it off the truck in Denver), if they somehow did this, why did it take a week to get the car sold?? sold to first owner 1-11-66
i'm not saying their facts are bogus, just when you get information about your car it may or may not be complete.  when the card and broadcast sheet was printed maybe it was SUPPOSED to go to Washington but by the end of the shift the order got cancelled or someone accidently put it on the wrong truck for delivery (or train car for that matter) then maybe its those RAILROAD people messing things up)

i'll change the title to the thread
