Well please...educate me on the intricacies of how a car that is blowing away its sales projections is actually a failure...

Blowing away? Put down the crack pipe... Do you also tell women that TicTacs are an inch long? Talk about exaggeration... Blowing AWAY? :rotz:

It is till VERY UGLY... And not just plain ugly - I mean, red headed step child fell out of an ugly tree and hit EVERY branch before landing face first in a pile of dog crap UGLY.

And that big wheeled bling version of the new '06 Creeder 01 is a crime...someone should be shot. :puke: '06 Creeder 01...did I mention it was UGLY?

See billy...that's what we in the "educated" set refer to as an "opinion."  It is not a "fact."  Plenty of people seem to like the car and are therefore buying it.  It is what is known as "voting with your wallet."  If they had only sold 10,000 Chargers instead of the 30,000 they have sold, then I would say "Bill, you are right" but, since they HAVE sold 30,000 copies, I think (as usual) the world inside your head is not jibing with the world outside your door.
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

I kinda like it, if they built a 2 door I would have got one, why can't they make a 2 and a 4 door?

Hey OC, did I memtion it was UGLY? C'mon, admit it...don't you think it's hideous? I mean, it should have it @$$ shaved and the rare few new owners should be forced to drive it backwards. But wait, then t would look like a GALANT going backwards down the street...that might NOT be a good idea. Hey, it's a freakin' MONSTROSITY!!

Good point, but you see slick there are a lot of UGLY chicks out there that other people are dating too...that doesn't make them any better looking, it just means that there are guys out there who can't do any better. Personally, I don't see the point in driving the UGLY version when there are better looking options out there.

IT WOULD JUST BE ANOTHER CAR ON THE MARKET , THAT YOU EITHER LIKE, OR DISLIKE.....SO YOU CAN EITHER BUY IT OR NOT

I would buy one to if they were available in a two door, but Germans don't care about cool...evidently.  They would rather cater to a bunch of preppy wannabees I guess.

Hey Andy, what color code is your car.  It looks good with the black top.  I am going for that look when I paint.

There is this guy in my town that is driving one and I cannot wait to pull up next to him and leave him setting.  He drives around like he is a badass.  He probably never owned a REAL Charger.

What does he do that makes him look, feel or think he is a badass?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

and i seem to remember they sold another 8o K sumphin in '69,.. sounds like a winner to me...  :icon_smile_big:

Big Lebowski

Now i'm getting it, my bad. We have to add the Magnum's monthly sales numbers to the Charger's monthly sales numbers because the Charger hasn't sold as many units of the car it was supposed to replace. Thanks for the clarification.

But this is my favorite, i guess a year for counting the Charger sales numbers is actually 15 months? How many months? In my world, there are only 12 months and the sky is blue, most of the time.  :icon_smile_big:
"Let me explain something to you, um i am not Mr. Lebowski, you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the dude, so that's what you call me. That or his dudeness, or duder, or you know, el duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing."

Personally I have never seen such a campaign made by people who have no stake in the success or failure of a vehicle. And then on top of that we're force fed "how cool" and "how great" and "how popular" this car is when it really is just another car with mediocre sales in a sea of cars with mediocre sales. What exactly is the point of continually bringing this stupid car up? Most of us could care less about it, and quite frankly MANY of us hate it. So why are some people so concerned with trying to change our opinions? Why do you care so much? This is a website where we all own OR wish to own OR love the CLASSIC Charger. We don't discuss Neons here because we don't care to, we don't discuss Vipers here and they are MUCH cooler than the Creeder, we don't discuss Galants (except when pointing out where the Creeder stole it's styling from), we don't discuss 18 wheelers all too often, we don't really even discuss 1st or 3rd Gen Chargers enough IMO. WHY do we have to rehash this over and over again? Why do you guys care so much? Why the apologetics? Why the rationalizations? What gives? Please, give it up....the car just plain sucks. They can count 15 months of sales as 12 months. They can add 300 sales to the Creeders sales. They could gold plate it and give them away....it won't change the opinions of those of us who just don't care. I mean, is this is a classic Charger website, or did I make a wrong turn somewhere on the WWW?

Oh, and BTW

The Magnum sedan has ONLY picked up the LOST sales of the Magnum wagon. It's almost been an even swap the last 4 months. if you look at the numbers, as the Magnum wagon sales went down the Magnum sedan sales went up. Wooohooo....what a STUNNING succes!! Give me a break :rotz: Basically all they did was ensure sales of the LX platform by offering another flavor of Vanilla. Hardly a success...it's just a REARRANGEMENT of incoming revenue. Gee, I hope DCX doesn't sprain their elbow patting themselves on the back... :P

Anyone else notice how the two lines mirror eachother almost EXACTLY?

It's as if those buying the Sedan may have decided against the wagon first....pretty sad commentary on the Creeder IMO.

Shipped and sold are two different things and I keep asking where these tens of thousands of cars have been sold at because I haven't seen more than 6 on the road since they came out. That isn't just cruising around Mayberry here either.   I put several thousand miles on the road since that car came out through Ontario and the northeastern US.   That is why I have asked before if they are all going to the west or south.   I see lots and lots gathering dust at the dealerships.
I'm sure they are building them like nobody's business and I'm equally sure that anyone looking for a nice four door family car will look at one and they will sell.   Breaking records?   I'm about a year out from being forced to eat crow on that one my friend.
I'll stand by my statement for now.   With the amount of money Chrysler put into promoting this, there is no way they'll admit defeat at this point.   A slaes failure?   No.   But I don't for second believe it's their best seller yet.

Shipped and sold ARE two different things.   According to Chrysler, they have SOLD that many Chargers.

In addition, no one ever said this was going to be their best seller...that's the 300.   No one said it was gonna break any records either.

They're selling plenty of 'em.   I've seen a bunch here in Charlotte as well as in   Atlanta, Birmingham, Talladega, Columbus, GA, and Orlando.   All cities I have been to in the past month.

I'll catch up with you in...lets say June of next year.   By that point, there wiill be a year of sales under their belt.

So what? It's still a joke. I've seen two on the streets in the Portland area among all the other 4-door whatevers that all look the same. Are you a self-appointed '06 apologist because you actually think it does the Charger name any justice or do you do it for the antagonism factor? I see nothing about the car that would make anyone as passionate about changing minds as you. Who really cares? It's another run of the mill sedan that a bunch of stoic Germans misnamed.

And are you so thick-skulled that, whether you like the car or not, you can't seem to admit that it is selling well?   Is your opinion (because that is, after all what it is) so grand in your own head that the concept that someone may actually LIKE the damned thing actually turns your stomach the way it seems to?

I don't really give a rat's ass whether you like the car or not.   I do, you don't...whoop-de-shit.   I hate e-bodies, many people like them...again...whoop-de-shit.

I have no beef with people who don't like the car, my beef is with people who seem to completely discount FACTS because they don't seem to coincide with the opinion in their heads.

I'm not an '06 apologist...that implies that there is something that requires an apology.   The name was theirs to do with what they wanted to, as is the Hemi name, the R/T moniker, the "go-mango" name and every other trademark that   is rightfully theirs.   If they want to put it on a scooter, that's their prerogative.   The car is excellent on its own merit.   345 horses, V-8, Rwd, etc.   You don't have to like it...lots of other people do.

You don't like E-bodies but they are selling for record amounts to collectors so by your logic I should continually pound the sales figures over your head in some lame attempt to convince you it should be more than it is to you. Should I seek you out every time an E-body sells for $170k and tell you all about it? Will it change your mind about them?

No one who thinks the '06 is a joke cares about the sales figures. FACTS or not they don't make us like the looks of it any more. What do your sales figures prove? That some metrosexual couldn't choose between it and a Corolla so he tossed a coin? That Magnum sales dropped because the "Charger" was built? That someone was too lazy to get the real Charger he wanted so he settled? I'm not avoiding FACTS because facts don't change the look of the car. The '06 apologists continually avoid the styling issue in favor of performance, sales figures, RWD, V8, whatever, for no logical reason other than to start arguments and try to prove that ugly cars CAN sell well. So far no one has convinced me it's selling well. Just for kicks let's compare '06 sales to the Honda Accord. Yes it's my opinion about the looks but that's ALWAYS been the crux of the issue with the car and harping on this other garbage does nothing for the looks of the four door wannabe.
