Just saw this on msn.com   I guess it was at the sema show.  any one have any better pics or info on it.  Form this angle it looks like a 2 door.

Blown70

Did they make that into a TWO door?

PocketThunder

Yep

"There were also examples of customized Dodge Magnums, classic Dodge Chargers and even a Jeep Grand Cherokee in the Mopar Speedshop, and plenty of other Chrysler products could be found in other displays. These included a chopped 2-door Chrysler 300 and a 2-door Dodge Charger painted to look like a modern-day version of the car from the Dukes of Hazzard TV series, the General Lee. "

"Liberalism is a disease that attacks one's ability to understand logic. Extreme manifestations include the willingness to continue down a path of self destruction, based solely on a delusional belief in a failed ideology."

Well, that's just stupid.  Everyone knows that marketing has told them that there is absolutely no way that anyone on the face of the entire planet will ever buy a stinking two door so don't build one, design one, or hint about them or conceptualize them, and above all, never, ever, ever, EVER admit you may have made a mistake.

451-74Charger

They will call it  a "Custom shop Concept" and never admit they even thought about a 2door.

Ghoste

It would be kind of funny to see the public and magazines all go nuts over the two door though, wouldn't it?
Personally, I still find it unattractive but it would be funny to see Creed eat crow.

451-74Charger

My wife likes the 2 door, so I guess that maybe a selling point for us, if they ever release it, buit she knows I hate the 4 door, and wouldnt even have one, even with our HUGE discount we get. (her company have the Charger as a Rep car, but everyone hates them)

Ghoste

I like the grille better too.  Odd, the Dakota grille is another point that is frequently picked on by those of us who don't like the car.

Here's a thread showing different angles & also some of the other cars in PT's post; http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,5263.0.html

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

::)
The car was not built or sanctioned by DCX, it was built by WCC.

LOL thats because the numbers include 300's and Magnums too! Nothing like massaging numbers to make it look good.

Nope...that's just Chargers my man.

They sold 7,119 Chargers, 2500 Magnums, and about 10,000 300s in October.

Shakey

Those Charger sales numbers don't surprise me at all.  I figured they would be pretty good.  After all, it is a new, RWD V-8, 4dr sedan that is reasonably priced and not over sized.

41husk

They would have doubled sales if it were offerd in a two door as well :Twocents:
1969 Dodge Charger 500 440/727
1970 Challenger convertible 340/727
1970 Plymouth Duster FM3
1974 Dodge Dart /6/904
1983 Plymouth Scamp GT 2.2 Auto
1950 Dodge Pilot house pick up

dodgecharger-fan

That's a lot of taxi cabs.  :P

As much as that car leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, I will likely be driving one...
it is on the list of company cars where I work.

It's the Charger or an Impala, or a GrandPrix  :icon_smile_dead:

andy74

new impala is pretty nice, but i would have to drive the chargermagnum if given those 3 options

Well please...educate me on the intricacies of how a car that is blowing away its sales projections is actually a failure...

Lets see here...

They say they are expecting to sell 60,000 units in a year

They have sold 30,840 units in five months with sales increasing by an average of a thousand units a month.

So please, tell me exactly what mistake they should be admitting to.

So tell me about this place where up is down, its dark during the day, and Mustanghater displays good judgement.

Shipped and sold are two different things and I keep asking where these tens of thousands of cars have been sold at because I haven't seen more than 6 on the road since they came out. That isn't just cruising around Mayberry here either.  I put several thousand miles on the road since that car came out through Ontario and the northeastern US.  That is why I have asked before if they are all going to the west or south.  I see lots and lots gathering dust at the dealerships.
I'm sure they are building them like nobody's business and I'm equally sure that anyone looking for a nice four door family car will look at one and they will sell.  Breaking records?  I'm about a year out from being forced to eat crow on that one my friend.
I'll stand by my statement for now.  With the amount of money Chrysler put into promoting this, there is no way they'll admit defeat at this point.  A slaes failure?  No.  But I don't for second believe it's their best seller yet.
I do stand corrected on the DCX seeing their error comment.  I didn't realize someone else built the concept.  Of course, my sarcastic never say your wrong post has a lot of truth to it in the case of this car though so I should have realized they didn't build it from the start.

Shipped and sold ARE two different things.  According to Chrysler, they have SOLD that many Chargers.

In addition, no one ever said this was going to be their best seller...that's the 300.  No one said it was gonna break any records either.

They're selling plenty of 'em.  I've seen a bunch here in Charlotte as well as in  Atlanta, Birmingham, Talladega, Columbus, GA, and Orlando.  All cities I have been to in the past month.

I'll catch up with you in...lets say June of next year.  By that point, there wiill be a year of sales under their belt.

Fair enough.  If I do have to admit defeat on that point though, I still ain't putting on a sheep suit and buying one.  No sales numbers or performance stats will ever stop me from seeing that thing as very ugly family car. ;D

So what? It's still a joke. I've seen two on the streets in the Portland area among all the other 4-door whatevers that all look the same. Are you a self-appointed '06 apologist because you actually think it does the Charger name any justice or do you do it for the antagonism factor? I see nothing about the car that would make anyone as passionate about changing minds as you. Who really cares? It's another run of the mill sedan that a bunch of stoic Germans misnamed.

And are you so thick-skulled that, whether you like the car or not, you can't seem to admit that it is selling well?  Is your opinion (because that is, after all what it is) so grand in your own head that the concept that someone may actually LIKE the damned thing actually turns your stomach the way it seems to?

I don't really give a rat's ass whether you like the car or not.  I do, you don't...whoop-de-shit.  I hate e-bodies, many people like them...again...whoop-de-shit.

I have no beef with people who don't like the car, my beef is with people who seem to completely discount FACTS because they don't seem to coincide with the opinion in their heads.

I'm not an '06 apologist...that implies that there is something that requires an apology.  The name was theirs to do with what they wanted to, as is the Hemi name, the R/T moniker, the "go-mango" name and every other trademark that  is rightfully theirs.  If they want to put it on a scooter, that's their prerogative.  The car is excellent on its own merit.  345 horses, V-8, Rwd, etc.  You don't have to like it...lots of other people do.

Well again another thread shot due to the seemingly forever battle for the love or lack there of of th 05/06 Chargers.   :P

Man I just was intressed in the chopped 01.   Thought it might spur some love for the new design.   But I see there is plenty of hate still floating about.     :flame:
