Rocker shafts cleaned but forgot to label left and right, How do I tell now?

I got my machine shop to clean the rocker shafts on my 400 and check them to see if they're ok to put back on. He said they're fine but I forgot to label them left and right. Now they're all bare and there's no numbers anywhere stamped. Is there a way to tell left and right? Do is it matter? I see some aftermarket shafts that offer different left and right and I've seen some that don't.

the shafts themselves are universal.  make sure you emplace them with the holes down and leaning away from the top of the head for proper oil return.

edit.. now the reason why they are universal:  the heads are universal and can be put on either side, hence, the shafts and all the components therein are universal too.  just an fyi.  the rockers, themselves, have to go in a specific order or your pushrods run the great risk of rubbing against the head on the intake runners.  so make sure you put in the spacers and align each rocker to its proper position.

This would be a good time to get a factory service manual for your car if you dont have one already.  :yesnod:

RD is right.  You will be able to tell this when they are on the heads, as to which ones are left and which ones are right.  Bottom tabs of the rockers are what you look at.  If they favor the left, they go to the left.  If they point towards the right the go to the right.  The combo is L/R, L/R. L/R ect.  This is the same formula for either side. Don't forget to double check push rod clearence on the head walls and the spacers are correct.  I wouldn't worry about a manual...If you are still lost let me know and I will take a picture of one of my BB engines.

Yeah I've got a factory service manual. I know I have to get new rocker arms because when I took the shafts off I dropped all of them and they got mixed up so I threw them away. I kept the hardware and the washer/oil lite spacer things. Do I need to replace those spacers and the bolts or just soak them in degreaser? I've got new Mopar pushrods.
