What do you guys think of this car based on what you see. Not a lot of info in the add. I am going to take a look at it this weekend. The owner said it was an original A/C car, all the under hood stuff is gone but the dash stuff is still there. Numbers matching 318/904. Maaco repaint last year  :eek2:.

I like it a lot.  I had a Maaco repaint on a B body and they did a nice job.  I'd rather roll in that for 8,700 than rolling around in mine for 45,000.00!!  If it's as nice in person go for it.  It would depend on good body work, original panels etc... for me.  Good Luck. :2thumbs:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Maaco can do nice paint job but not for $200 special.

Good looking car. I think I'd toss the K-mart seat covers in the trash, throw on a six-pack style lift-off hood and cruise it. :2thumbs:

Actually this one is real close to me although my first choice would be a 3rd gen Charger or Sat. Gotta have A/C in the desert.

My plans for it would be like a 5.7 Crate Hemi with a 4 speed, 4 wheel disc brakes, just rebuild the stock suspension on stock K frame. Leave the body alone. Maybe 17" retro wheels to clear the brakes. Make it a nice cruiser.

This being a 318 car I would not feel too bad modifying it.

Look it over good since it is new paint.  Could be hiding something.

Not bad money if the paint/body is good.

if that car is nice I would buy it in a heart beat  :2thumbs:

I went and took a look this evening. The body is basically rust free. Has lots of dings that were painted over, left quarter got a bondo fill collision repair. Needs complete resto. Still a very solid body to start with.

Would it be more cost efficient to just start with a manual trans car than convert this one?

Love the color but I don't know if I'd necessarily call it an easy GTX clone; maybe not a difficult one but not easy either.  I wouldn't go the clone route anyway, I'd make a great running street cruiser out of it and not feel any guilt about it being a Satellite.

My plan would be to keep it Satellite. Rebuild stock suspension and steering, replace the rear end with an 8 3/4 sure grip. Rebuild the brakes with bigger 4 wheel discs. Tires and wheels. Bigger motor being either a stroked small block crate engine or new Hemi, gotta have a manual trans. Replace the interior and get the A/C back together. Body and trim has to be smoothed out, cleaned up and repainted and re-chrome the bumpers.

Not a small project. What would be a ballpark dollar figure on something like that, excluding the cost of the car.
