Do you have a buffer? If so, try med-hvy cut compound and machine it off.   Then light, swirl remover, glaze.  If that doesn't work...wet sand very lightly with 2000grit and machine buff, then light, then glaze.

When I was about 18, I used to hang out at the bowling center at night after work and help my mother or bowl or whatever.  One night after leagues, a bunch of cars in the parking lot had been keyed among other things.  So I told my mother the next week I would sit in the parking lot all night while the teams were bowling and see if anything happened.  So I arrived early and sat in my CJ-7 for a few hours and sure enough, a bunch of the kids(parents were bowling inside) came around the corner and started throwing rocks, scratching cars, etc....(it was the cars in the front line right in front of the building because they were the easiest to get to, I imagine).  They went inside and I immediately followed them in and asked the counter staff where they went.  A couple girls went in the women's bathroom and a few boys went in the men's bathroom(no doubt to do more damage) I grabbed the girl behind the counter and told her to get the girls in the bathroom and I got the boys.  Sat them all behind the counter until Fairfax Police showed up(parents were furious with me, like it was my fault, but surprisingly non of the parents grabbed their kid and split)
Police came, report was filed, pictures taken, and I had to go to court and testify.  Once again, the parents were looking at me like I was the criminal  but I stood my ground and as far as I remember, those parents had to pay for all the damage done to all those cars.  How do you think those kids made out on that deal?

As far as fighting goes, no sense beating them up, just shoot em and get it over with.  Fighting doesn't solve anything, shooting puts an end to it.
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Generally if you can feel the scratched area with your finger nail then you will not be able to fully buff it out...alot depends on the paint also.  Sorry this happened to you ..punks  :RantExplode:

An ex roomate of my wife's stole a bunch of money and clothing from her. We called the police and nothing happened. Our word versus her's kind of thing.

After she moved out I found out where she lived. A huge dormitory. Then I found her car (no question it was hers). It was in a massive student parking lot about a block away. The next morning before work (approx 4am) I drove to her car and with my portable drill put a hole in her oil pan.

I figured she'd at least notice the oil spot on the ground and that would be the end of my revenge.

She didn't notice, or did and didn't know what it meant, and drove the car into the ground.

Daytona RT/SE is dead on. You might mess with my stuff, I'll effing bury yours.

Cody-  Sorry for the damage to the car.  I hope it can be fixed up with a little buffing with a polishing compound and a good waxing.

As for the revenge part, be careful as it can become a slippery slope.  What you do to their car might lead to futher damage to yours later on, and so forth.  I know first hand that it can and eventually will happen, usually with someone doing some serious damage to your car.  In my case, they tried to play demo derby with me on a pubic road everytime they saw me driving around by myself at night.  Lets just say that I could easily outdrive them, since I was not drunk and they were.  (I have great revenge ideas for payback, but they are better kept to myself, rather than to cause further problems.  The old addage stands: never piss off a thinking nerd unless you are one too.)  Times have changed since when I was a kid (man, I feel old) when you could use violence to even the score and no one would misinterpret it for something else.  Nowdays, you have to be careful or you might be the one with a record, even if your car was the first thing damaged.  My advice is to be more careful with the car (keep your eyes open for them being around is step one) and to make it much harder for them to mess with you (ie. hide the car if you can).  The police should be notified, as this type of damage might happen further on down the road and the guys that did this should be held accountable for it.  To bad your car can't pull a Christine on them and fix the problem itself......

This is awesome. I am glad to hear that there are god people out there. Sometimes it seems like there aren't any left. I know I stopped being one a long time ago.

Three words for you for the future Cody: CAMERAS, CAMERAS, CAMERAS!!!!!  :2thumbs: I know this is in hindsight, but you could wire up a quick cheap one that records every night! Sorry to hear about this kiddo! MEAN KIDS SUCK!!!!!  :yesnod: I should know, when i was younger and had my horse, (don't laugh) some girls that didn't like me for whatever reason, decided to go to the mutual tack room and cut my saddle up. They then turned their hatred on my poor innocent horse. They beat him, and covered his whole body (Winter coat) in a balm that we put on sores!!!!  :RantExplode: :brickwall: :flame: The balm was on him all night and the next day after school I saw what happened. Called the vet just in time. He said it could of KILLED him, because his skin couldn't breath! I know it wasn't a car, but it was something I loved alot! You've got to be careful where you park.  Back in the day, when I had just bought my new '68 R/T, I was working in L.A. on Pico Blvd. near Watts.  I had no choice but to leave the new Charger in a big parking lot right off the main drag.  Sure enough, after a few weeks the car got keyed bad right across the trunk lid, zigzagging across the paint then the stripe, then the paint and so on.  I almost got sick when I saw it. :flame: :flame:  Bob

Cody,

I am sorry that this happened to you.  Having my charger keyed at a show (whole pass. quarterpanel) also, I can feel your pain.  On certain angles, I can still see the scratch in the paint.  Like others have said, if you can take your finger nail to the scratch and have your finger nail "catch", the scratch will probably not be fully removed with compound.  It COULD probably be lessened and not seen as bad with first using compound and then buffing it out.  My recommendation is to try the least abrassive compound first and then go up in stages with the next more aggressive compound.  You don't want to start off too aggressive cause it will only remove paint that you might be able to save.

As others have suggested, try cameras for where you park your car or just keep it in a secure area. Locking car covers can still be lifted up and damage done to the vehicle and then have the cover simply put back over, then you have no clue when the damage is done.  Working for a police dept, I would certainly make some kind of report on it so should it happen again, it is on record.  Who knows, should the bastards do it again and get caught, not only will they have to pay for it once but probably the second time aslo.

Good luck with the repair and don't let the bastards get you down.  They are just jealous cause your car is better / nicer than theirs.

Those punks are a pair of loosers who will probable end up dead or pounding big rocks into little rocks.  You are more evolved than they are.  After all you drive a MOPAR :icon_smile_big:  Set up cameras and report it.  They will eventually get theirs. :Twocents:

Sorry to see this. Hopefully it will come out.

A friend of mine had a guy put sugar in the gas tank of his Roadrunner when we were younger. My buddy saw him passed out at a outside party in his car and lit his hair on fire and burnt almost all of it off and caught his headliner on fire!

Just going by  the looks of the pic. It seems like it just hazed the clear coat (if it has one).  If it does not have clear coat and that is the color of the primer, you may be screwed.  On a positive note if you need to have it repainted, it looks like it is below a body line so they may be able to blend in the paint right at the body line (plus you could take care of any rust issues at the same time)

Those scratches are much lower than I thought....are these guys dwarfs?

If so, kicking their asses shouldn't be a problem.  :2thumbs:
