Man, that is one rotten '68. :'( The engine bay is the best part of the whole car.

Do you think this patch of carpet on the hump is there so you have a soft spot to sit while you're pedaling the car Flinstone style?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

A Charger guy never wants to see this happen, but there are times like this that there's no turning back.

With the Dana missing (it currently has an 8-3/4") there is no way to know if it was an original 4-speed. Damn shame.... :icon_smile_dissapprove:

Just guessing but from this pic I'd say it was an automatic on the column.

Except that wheel & column are blue (or they used to be) & the floor is red. I'm betting it was a 4-speed & the column was sold with the rest of the missing stuff...pedals, hump, etc.

Where's that reinforcement piece on the firewall?  My guess is it wasn't originally a 4 gear.

Ok, I don't have a good explanation for that one  So you & Tilar are probably right. :2thumbs:
