Since no one answered over on the "Interior" section of the board, I'll ask over here.  Should the steering column of a '70 'Bird be painted textured satin black or just plain smooth satin black?  Thanks

My column is original.   It looks to me like more of a very dry spray type texturing, versus actual media in the paint.    It's less of a satin and more towards a dead flat finish.   Not sure if they used Organisol or something similar.

It is a suede-like finish - like the dash frame. The mounting stamped brackets are dipped with 12% flattened black.

If you really want to get technical-Jewel black chrysler code AC38VX9 or ditzler code 9324.These codes are as shown in the 70 service manual. It's a dodge manual but I highly doubt that plymouth of the same year would be different.

I have already sprayed the dash frame with a slight texture finish (David Patik recommended).  It turned out nice... maybe a little more texture than I would like.  I'll take a picture tomorrow.  I just wanted to make sure that the dash frame and column were supposed to match.  Thanks!

This is assuming the column is supposed to be black.  ;D
