Could it be that is a reason for vibrations ? worn bushings on talhousing OR inside tranny along the drive train shafts ?

I have tried to describe the vibrations... slightly begans around 80 MPH and increasing, is kinda "pulsating" vibrations. Releasing gas pedal, makes kinda worse, and more constant, not too much pulsating.

A worn bushing in the tailshaft will create vibration issues. The front yoke should be fairly snug when inserted into the transmission.  :Twocents:

Hey Nacho, after getting beat up  :icon_smile_blackeye: for replying to a 2 year old thread...I've just rebuilt a 727 for my car which was having a driveline vibration, but my vibration started about 105mph and got worse.  I replaced the tailshaft bushing with the rebuild, so I should know whether that fixed my problem in a week or so.  Good luck

at 105mph.. i would think its a tire imbalance problem morseo than a tailshaft bushing, but ya never know!!! time will tell.

I recently got the vibration out of my barracuda, it started at 85 and would shake the whole car. Tried tire balancing, no help, new universals, no help, checked driveshaft, good still had vibes. checked trans bushing had a little play not much. Finally new yoke, still vibes, put in a new universal with it messed the other one up(a advance one). Was going to put in some pinion angle shims, but was looking over the yoke and slack in bushing some more and found the new universal had movement in it, only about 40 or 50 miles on it. So I bought a new american made one from napa. Put it back in and vibe was gone. The only other thing I changed was to put the flat washers under the trans instead of the bolts on the trans mount, which is about 1/8 to 3/16 thick. I think the new yoke might have been the fix, but the bad universal made it vibe just as before.

So, after rebuilding the replacement 727 with a fresh tailshaft bushing, the vibration is gone at up to about 115 - I haven't found an appropriate location to open it up faster than that, and...big surprise...my 40 y.o. speedo is off, and I've lost track of my GPS to confirm.  I'd recommend changing the bushing if the other common problems don't fix the vibration.  I highly recommend a set of snapring pliers designed to spread the snapring in the tailshaft.  I've been told you can do it with a couple of flat blade screwdrivers...but you'd better be stocked up on patience.  Good luck, let me know if it helps.  :2thumbs:
