Thanks for the compliments guys, seeing color is a huge motivator to get moving faster on the car!

Looks like what we're going to do is paint the rest of the underside of the car, as well as the trunk & maybe the interior (we'll at least primer that before laying down the dynamat).  Then the car will go to a body shop for the body work and paint.  Obviously the exterior will be base coat/clear coat type paint, this is just single stage enamel.  It's not perfect, but I'm sure it looks better than a factory job. 

I'm working an internship through August and living at home while doing so, so hopefully quite  bit of headway will be made before I head back to college for my last year.

This is inisde the garage...booth is made of pvc and plastic sheeting as you can see in the pics.  Added an intake fan & an exhaust fan with filters & it worked very well.  Fumes were still strong, but we had paint-rated masks on.

Did you use white sealer??  anytime I shoot yellow I always use white sealer.

Hmm...can you tell that we didn't?  We used dark primer (novices..haha) but the paint covers it up just fine from what I see.  It may have taken a little more paint to cover it up though.

Hopefully the underside of the car will be painted tomorrow.  It's supposed to be 69 degrees in St. Louis...great painting weather.  I'll post pics if we get it done.

While out in the garage this morning getting ready to wash the underside of the car in prep for paint, I was taking a look at the engine bay and noticed some paint lifting and some dark primer showing through the paint.  So instead, the entire day was spent wet sanding, priming, more sanding, then finally repainting the engine bay, and this time, it looks a whole lot better.  Hopefully there will be some nice weather next weekend and we can get the underside painted.

Painted the underside last weekend, just got around to taking pictures.  The lighting is different in these pics, it makes the paint look lighter than it actually is.  Also, it kind of looks like there is a texture in these pics & there isn't.  Trust me, it looks much better in person.






I think it looks great for being painted while sitting on jackstands.

Yeah, it looks very good.    Mine will probably get painted on jack stands too...................someday.
