Just got my quarter panels in from ebay. They dont look to be correct to me. What do you guys think? I dont think there is supposed to be a crease at the top. Hope I didnt get ripped.

flashley18

Heres two more I dont know if you can see the though they might be too dark,

ramit

They don't look like a 3rd gen charger quarter to me.  I think I remember seeing those on ebay and wondering what they are really for.

71 RT

I would agree, those do not look right at all.

Those quarter panels are a joke.   I tried to warn people about buying them.   I know there is someone on ebay selling them in Westland, Michigan.   Probably be good to patch in, but not good for a replacement.

what you bought is hand made shit. you get what you pay for. :yesnod: there is no such things as bargain 1/4 panels. they aren`t worth using.

flashley18

hmm now the hard part trying to figure out what to do about it.

flashley18

Is there any other place that sells quarter panels for a 71?

I think im just gonna use the lower parts as a patch maybe i can bend out that upper crease and use it. :-\

twilt

those panels barely even resemble a 71 charger 1/4. while i can understand that you may want to make the best out of a bad situation and try to use these, i feel pretty confident that you would be better of scrapping them and obtaining a legit reproduction or better yet a pair of clean used 1/4`s. sure, the price is higher but the fit and finish will be better and less time wasted trying the make the junk panels work.  :Twocents:

I would love to find some nice ones but I cant seem to locate any.

What the heck is that?

It doesn't look like anything to me.
Let me know what you find out 'cause I'm gonna need a passenger one when I get this '74

Laysons has repro 71 1/4 skins  listed on their website for $349 per side, $675 a pair ..................that being said,i have never done business with them.. but...  i have read  many negative comments about them. usually not about the parts, but the lack of customer svc. However, if they have em, chances are that other vendors do too.

I know Goodmark is working on rear quarter panels for the 71-72 B bodies, theres talk of them being available next year.I dont know if they will be full(NOS Style),or like the current Goodmark quarter panels that will just go over the top edge.As of right now,no one makes a good 71-72 B body quarter panel for the Dodge,or the Plymouth. Those ones that guy bought off E Bay,look like the old Sherman hand formed panels. The only die stamped panels currently available, are for 73-74 Chargers, and there not that good.

chargerkid

The Sherman's formed panels for the 73/74 Chargers do not look like the ones above.  They are alot better quality and have the right contour to it.  The ones above are pancakes.  A 73 Charger owner locally bought a pair and he returned them and bought the ones down the street at Shermans.

Mr. Sherman is a great guy.  He's a Mopar guy too!  He owns a bird that he keeps in the showroom.

Yea but again Shermins or any other place is not repoping 73/74 anymore I was on the waiting list for a year and they kept telling me that they will be getting them in 6 weeks. That went on for a year.
