Wow, bidding already over 2k, must be a shill doing the bidding. My $500 parts car had less rust than that.

A poor Charger struck down in the prime of its life with rust. :brickwall:
Sounds like a originally pretty cool car too...

Rust can happen to the best of them.  Poor thing never saw it coming.   :rotz:

RD

heck, the console is worth $500, the pistol grip $75, rear valance w/cut outs $250, etc. etc.

that car is rusty, but i bet she is a rare one and has a lot of goodies to her.

remember this, the 73/74 chargers were the most widely produced; hence there is a crapload of parts cars out there to donate for this one to become whole again.  A good one to buy if it doesnt get too crazy if you ask me.
67 Plymouth Barracuda, 69 Plymouth Barracuda, 73 Charger SE, 75 D100, 80 Sno-Commander

Once upon a time, that was a pretty cool car- looks like its too far gone now though, at least for a '74. Even with the rarer drivetrain option, that just wouldn't be worth the investment to bring back from the dead.... and it's pretty much on life support now.
74 Charger SE, 400 HP, 4-speed

I live about ten minutes from that car lot. Every classic car on his lot is way overpriced.

My car was way more rusted than that and I saved her. :yesnod:
Took a lot of time and the car will never be worth what I have in it but it was worth it to me.
The car is done now but I haven't taken updated pics.

worth saving for rarity isn't it?   :shruggy: ,
seems like many many car projects on here deal with that much rust, at least 2nd gens I have seen in body section here, is it because the 3rd gen isn't worth putting that much money into it?

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

defiance

3rd gen is lower value, and much fewer body parts produced, so it can get pretty hard finding good sheet metal.  I've seen bulge hoods go from $700-$1500 bucks, but I've never seen one sell in THAT condition.  The entire front lip's rusted off it!

Could be
I knew going in that my car would never be worth what I put in it.
I didn't care, I wanted to save it.

I've been here long enough to see 2nd gen's in way worse shape and they were restored. I'm willing to bet that most cars on this and all other classic car forums are not worth as much as the owners have stuck into them.

If I had the money to do it, I'd be all over that car. :yesnod:
