Brake Booster difference

I had to replace the pwr brake booster on my 70 RR.  It had one on it that was tapered down to the master cyl.  The one that came in from Advance is in the chair pic.  No taper and extra vacuum plugs.  Other than not being the original looking type does anyone know of anything why this might not work or is it just the luck of the draw when getting aftermarket parts?  Biggest thing I see is that the clearance from the exhaust is less from the HP manifolds.  Any input would be great before I attempt to install it.  Thanks, David

Your best bet would be to have your original booster rebuilt.  That rebuilt unit that you got seems to be a generic one that comes with the master power brakes aftermarket kit.

Booster Dewey rebuilt mine several years ago.  A reasonable price and quick turnaround.

I already turned in for a core but I asked them to hold onto it until I made sure this one would fit.  The old one was pretty rusty outside and apparently had been filling with brake fluid for awhile and sat many years with soaking.  Things didn't feel right especially after changing out the front rotors, calipers, hoses, and misc.  Kept noticing that the master cyl was getting low. After the second time of refilling and not finding any leaks anywhere I pulled the master cyl. and saw the booster completely full.  The intake had been sucking it down also.  I hope that will cure some of the exhaust smoke and a couple of other engine issues.  The car had been sitting since 93.
