Looks pretty impressive! Not that I would let them do that to a no. matching car that I owned! Thanks for sharing. I want to see that episode!

I will be definitely be tuning into that episode........

Personally I like more of the original look but if any of you guys want to submit my name to have my car jacked and totally done in a week.....I will gladly play along and even cry like a school girl at the end of the show when it is revealed!

I'm not normally into customs that radical,  but, that is pretty cool.

Foose really likes the silver and black combo........that has got to be the 3rd or 4th car I have seen him do like that!

73rallye440magnum

very, VERY ugly wheels in my opinion, they looked alright on that chally he did, but not on a first gen charger.

Looks like he boogered up the interior too. >:(

4402tuff4u

The interior would of looked better in black in my opinion.

man do I hate those wheels!  Beaten w/an ugly stick

Orange_Crush

I think it looks great....wheels and all.

The first gen looks like it was made to sit low over the weels and the 2-tone paint does a great job of accenting the fastback.

The only thing I'm not crazy about is the shaker hood.
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

Yes it looks like one on each side.

"OOOH, Big wheels and a split level paint job, dark over light, black over silver, big engine, new suspension..."

Can't they come up with something new? Why all the stupid big wheels? And man oh man, that color combo is getting old.... :rotz: Doesn't he have a new ideas? If this is the way muscle car modification is going to go, I see it being a very short lived trend.
Life is a highway...

Like the paint, wheels and interior got to go. Pin Stars should only be on the right front fender.

I don't mind them slagging new iron as it is still replaceable. But the vintage ladies should be left alone. And I have to agree with others here - the black and silver was sharp on the first 10,000 cars, burt after that the novelity waned.

I don't like that at all!  But then again I don't like a lot of foose stuff other than the gone in 60 seconds Mustang.  He strips away all that is good about a classic muscle car and adds huge stupid looking wheels.  The quality of the work is excellent but the design choices are awfull.  Yuck!   :puke:

You'd be surprised, from what I've seen just on tv and mags, it's not that great, he should just stick to sketching.
And another vote for the don't like it side, nothing new on this project again, way too easy to give it a two tone, big rims and a big engine, all it takes is money, prefferably someone elses.
Damn I'm gonna be rich... :icon_smile_big:

My friend at work saw a 69 Camaro that he did at Sturgis this summer.  He said he looked it over very closely and he did see some flaws here and there.

Yeah I notice them even on tv, especially that RR they did last summer but on that one they clearly show the guys slapping bondo on it like there's no tomorrow, or a good hammer and dolly guy around.
The thing is, these guys are very likely skilled enough to straigthen that bondo so that even a pro couldn't tell but time tells all, all bondo and fillers which are 'overused' will sag leaving markings and flaws, sometimes not more than a fine line which you can only see planting your face against the car and looking for light.
There's tricks to keep them away with time being the main factor, something those guys don't have on tv.
This is truly THE most important guy in the shop, the guy that can straighten metal like no other. If his job is good, all that follows will be too.
You guys ever see 'a' team with Foose recreate a classic hotwheels car? Some futuristic pick up thingie with a weird round cockpit and surfboards on the back, they made that scale 1;1, now THAT was interesting to see.

chip does great work and  he is not the only one working on the car. most of the time he's not the one doing the body work or paint. after paint cures there is always a few blemishes that need to be wet sanded out and buffed. I talked to charlie from the show hot rod  he came to our car club's car show this last summer. he said the cars on overhaulin don't always go back to the owners after 7 days. the cars are done in seven days but they go over the car later and tweak and tune everything to make sure everything is in working order. He also said when he worked for Boyd allot of the cars came back to have some of the blemishes fixed after the curing process. At least the ones that did not get sent to the Barrett jackson auction. He also said that chip foose is a great guy to work for and that he don't cut corners he does it the right way no matter how long it takes.

Charger_Fan

I'm liking that shaker hood, any more pics of the shaker itself?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Sorry Guys, my friend is a Chevy f-body guy, so didnt take too many pics.
You will have to just wait until the show airs to see the rest (unless someone here was at SEMA)

As for the car..
I kinda like it, not keen on the color, but I definatley wouldn't say no to it.
Chip and his team do good work, even if we dont agree on his style sometimes, I do see that he is a Mopar fan, and im sure he will make a few comments about that on the show.

If the car had been Numbers matching big block car, then i wouldnt have changed it, but im guessing that it probably wasnt.

If its owner is a member, or even would like to be a member here, then I would welcome him/her and the car, after all it IS a Charger !!

69_500

In my opinion it looks great. but that is just me, I wish that there was some more people who are willing to do things like this to these old MOpars. To me I would rather see 100's of modified Chargers and such at shows then hearing about 1,000's that are sitting in storage or in barns and such. Put it this way I like to see these cars driven. And typically people who do this sort of thing to these cars actually take them out and drive them. That is 1 more Charger on the streets that is turning young kids into lovers of Chargers.

Ghoste

I see most of the celebrity built (Foose, Coddington etc) cars ending up at auctions and going into private collections.  I agree though that if they are getting driven and turning kids onto older cars, it's a good thing.  For me personally though, I think it looked nicer before he added his special touch.  The wheels can be changed and many dollars later you could put the nice interior back in the car and find a hood but 1st gens are pretty scarce.  I'd have much rather seen him carve up a 69.  ;)

Old Moparz

The interior is my favorite part of the '66 & '67's, so that I'd leave alone except for adding a hidden stereo & leather. The color is okay, but probably not my choice since I was never a big fan of 2 tone paint.

The wheels? I stopped watching Saturday morning cartoons a really long time ago.   :smilielol:

There are plenty of restos out there too, but we see those all the time.

Best Shaker pic i have

dodgeboy67

c'mon chip.....you can do better than that    ......idont care for this big wheels crap....but they look semi-ok on the bigger landyaghts......if you asked me, the the best look is....... magnum rims , solid color paint with nice accent points....(like rally stripes, vinyl tops, composite hoods/wings)

and no..... i dont mean any of that rice rocket bling bling either

just for shits and giggles , i wrote chip foose a letter , (just in case my wife gets any funny ideas).......taped it to the dash...NO WINGS, NO BLING , AND NO FRICKEN 17"RIMS......OH AND LEAVE MY BUMPERS ALONE TOO!!!!!

ChgrSteve67

Well I guess I can give up hope on ever getting my 67 Overhauled.   :bawling:

Foose can do anything he wants to my first gen.

That man is a genius!

Its sad to see all of the chrome fall by the way side. Thats real BLING!

Headrope

I think I see what he was going for, but as a first gen owner I know that the car sits that low anyways when the springs and torsion bars need to be replaced. Foose's first gen looks too little like an intentionally lowered car.
As for the wheels: I have yet to see a set of wheels that I like on any of his cars. They just don't seem to match. Regardless of the fresh paint, new wave interior and brand new motor the lines of most cars are simply too classic for such hi-tech looking wheels. I'd rather see him create his own version of classic wheels for the cars. Like a Foose Torquethrust or Foose Cragar mag.
Sixty-eights look great and the '69 is fine.
But before the General Lee there was me - Headrope.

bluesfool

Interior, no thanks. Wheels, pass. Paint, nah. Hood, maybe. Other than that, I like it.

Charger_Fan

From the pics that 451 had, I was thinking the shaker scoop was something unique...apparently not. :(

I don't see any pics of the finished product either...I'm assuming it's done, yes?

That's what I'm saying.  I appreciate the fact that your hot on the Foose car Ron, but don't sell yourself short.  You've built a great ride there and Foose should be checking you out.

Spartan

The rims are ugly.  The paint doesn't bother me, my dad's 67 is silver with a black roof and I have never really seen the guys other work.  The white 66 in the pic there is sharp!
Over?! its not over until we say it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!...Hell no! and its not over now!..(Germans? Pearl Harbor?...shut up, he's on a roll)

I sorta like the wheels, they look like rally's just bigger, all in all i think the car is awsome from the pics i seen.  i got an ongoing 69 project i have been slowly working on, i'd trade in a heartbeat

Ghoste

Really, I have this ongoing 67 project and I need a 69...
I guess we're both looking for finished cars huh?
