I wanted a dual scoop hood for my Bee but didnt want to pay the going rate, lol. A buddy has this for sale and i know they are repopping the ram air hood box underneeth now. I told him i would buy it since his price has went from 1400 to 1000 in this bad economy. Is this a decent deal? I just hate paying a grand for a hood in a tight economy lol.
Heres what he emailed me
hood with scoops new bezels and plastic boxes and center ring. Hood is in good shape but does have hood pin holes.Has original scoops in good shape. Plastic boxes are in fair shape they do need some minor repair. All parts are original 1969 parts except for new reproduction scoop bezels.

For what it's worth....one persons definition of "fair shape" and "minor repair needed" may be completely different than yours...have you seen these in person? How bad are they?

Price the hood on e-bay to determine the value. Here's a non-air grabber bulge hood for $750.00

An air grabber for a $1000 sounds like a decent deal to me since I think it will at least add a $1000 to the value of your car.

Might want to try http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/ or http://www.dodgecoronet.com/ who will probably have a better idea on the going price for this hood.

I paid 550 for a really nice bulge hood last year. My delima is if i can find a hood with scoops(seen them at spring fling) for around 6-700 and buy a repop ram-air box for 500 i would have a new airbox and not need to "fix" anything

I don't mean to keep chiming in, but I probably would be asking the super bee guys on Coronet.com
