I have a chance to buy a 70 charger r/t, se, 440 4 speed (some rust issues) and also ran across a 69 charger 440 6 pck on e-bay (not original). Both cars are within 200 miles of me and negotiable. I just completed my challenger build and I am now looking for a charger. Before I commit I just wanted to have some imput from all of you charger owners. The charger is new grounds for me. My 70 chally is originally a 318 car so I was able to do what I wanted to her without keeping her original and losing value.

Dude, you just opened a can of worms. :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big:

Rallye

I'd have to go with the 70, especially if it's an R/T SE 440 4spd.  That is a dream car.  However, you say it has rust issues.  I've had some bad experiences with "rust issues".  So with that being said, I'd have to go with the cleanest car of the two.  But if you don't mind taking on the rust, then definitely go for the 70.   :Twocents:

By the way, beautiful Challenger!!!  :2thumbs:

It seems like the 69 is the most popular year overall.  I think I would prefer a 70 to a 69 though and especially an RT/SE 440 4 speed.

Nothing will ever beat the mighty fine.....69!

I like all the 2nd gens a lot (like the 3rd gens too, just not nearly as much as the 2nd gens), but my favorite of all is easily the '68.

'69 all the way for me!  The wrap around bumper on the '70 is just not my cup of tea.

For me it depends a lot on the model, the color, and the options, but I prefer the '68 and '70.

So, where is the first gen here? :shruggy:

69DodgeCharger

Just my opinion, but.....

68 Grille and side marker lights
69 Tailights
70 Interior and options (high back buckets, pistol grip, high impact colors)

Between the three you have the ultimate

My personal favorite are the 69's. But I'm biased.

The bugle sounds the charge begins. But on this battlefield no one wins.

Didn't we just have a poll on this like a few weeks ago?  :shruggy:

Given a choice between the 2, I'll take the 70... the grille on the 69 has always reminded me of the 68 GTO... 0ooooo, did I say that out loud
