I picked up this console a while ago and was wondering if anybody can identify it?

I thought it was for a 68 Coronet but they are more square?

That's an A-body part.  70-74 for sure but I'm not sure when they introduced the woodgrain top.  The console shape itself was around for quite a while and I want to say the wood look came in 68 or 69?

70s A body... 73 and later for SURE. Probably earliers too like Ghoste said

I have a 73 A body that I have owned since new and that console looks identical to mine

Looks like it had a tach or "Performance Meter" on it at one time.

Would this have been a factory option? I was unsure if somebody had drilled it themselves.

look on the underside to see if the hole is on the mark for the the tach hole location. it looks to small for a factory tach hole, maybe a vacuum gauge or aftermarket.

Somebody drilled that for sure.  The factory hole is considerably larger as it allowed for both a mounting pedestal and a place for the wiring to run through.  The factory hole is nearly 3/4 inch diameter.
