Finally got a shortblock (500c.i. Indy) and am wanting to get it ready to drop in.  I have the top end (stree dom intake/stealth heads/demon 750 carb) but need the peripherals:  oil pan/pickup/timing cover/alum waterpump & housing etc.  Am looking at the 440source stuff, but would like some input from anyone who has used any of these (especially the 7qt pan and pickup).  Also would like a recommendation company-wise as to who to look for for advice/purchasing a cam.  Thought of the obvious (Crane/comp etc) and also have heard good things about Scott Brown (straightline).  I know nothing about picking one and need some expert advice.  Any thoughts/obversations would be welcome!

I have all the parts you listed from 440 source and more: oil pan/pickup/timing cover/alum waterpump & housing/windage tray.  They were all quality pieces and I don't have any complaints.

Maybe Ron (firefighter3931) can help you with the cam choice - he helped me ;)
