Howdy,

Just want to know what i need to replace my leaf springs?

I want to replace the springs, and everything else that would be replaced with them. Can someone please give me a list and if possible a place that sells all the parts or just a kit with everything?

My rear hanger snapped last night so i just want to get her on the road a bit longer, figure im going to need new ones when i restore it anyways.

Thanks,

Frank

I posted THEN realized the '73 has all that isolated stuff and may be different from the '72.  Sorry!  I won't delete my post in case it's the same, but this is probably wrong :(

Assuming front spring hangar is in good shape...

-Leaf springs (duh :) )

-front spring bushings (2) (2" press fit if they're like mine, I think some springs have 1.5" though).

-rear spring bushings (total of 4 sets - 1 set into each spring, one set into each frame rail.  The sets usually include 2 rubber pieces and a metal sleeve.  So total would be 4 metal sleeves and 8 rubber boots).

-new u-bolts (4) (These things seem to NEVER come off without breaking/twisting :) )

I think Charger1973 converted his 73 to a 72 style rear by taking all the parts off of a 72 and moving them over.

Thanks Defiance

Nacho has exchanged many pm's with me and i was able to locate the isolator pads and the rest of the parts. I am still searching for a pair of front hangers though.

Bordin, PST sells new isolator pads.

Im just going to go to a local spring shop and have him make me springs, i dont want to worry about my ride height if i buy aftermarket springs. If i go there he will be able to add or remove leafs to get the height i want.

You looking for stock style '72 front spring hangars?  I swapped mine out for a relocated (inboard) set, so my stock set is sitting on a shelf at home.  Pay shipping and I'll give them a quick cleanup and send them your way.  PM me or email me ( defiancecp @ gmail . com ) if you want 'em.

Yep, I used the entire setup from under a junked 72 Rallye and got rid of all the rubber isolation stuff in the back of my car.

Thanks!

Just want to verify they will work. Im not sure if the hangers are different, though they should be the same.

charger1973, i will take a look at my stuff but most likely will keep the isolators for now.
