Here's how cool it could look if they go with hidden head lamps.  This was a sketch done years ago of what people thought the pace car would look like.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I agree but sadly it's all just in time for the next round of EPA initiatives to come out of Washington and kill the whole thing.

I like them - more than the Challenger but maybe less than a Mustang. I'd like to see them side by side to get an idea of how they compare in size. The Challenger is just big. It's unlikely that I'd buy a Chrysler product at all these days (bad experiences).

Troy

I agree with troy.  I bet these Camaro's will last and run longer than the Challenger too. (I have had way too many bad experiences with today's Chrysler products).  Wait who owns Chrsyler now ? :smilielol:

b5blue

I'll take that bet! The car looks like it's gonna be grinning at you from the service line! Sorry but GM left me holding the bag every time....brand new...used....didn't matter...holding the bag that use to be full of my money! Time will tell if they can match the Chally and Stangs once they hit the road! :D

Ghoste

Me too, when it comes to the Detroit carmakers I'll take Chrysler over GM anyday and I've worked for both.

That RS comes in almost 8-10 grand less than an SRT Challenger and gives you 1HP more to boot ;)
There you go. A better bang for the buck. :Twocents:

I just wonder how many special/limited/anniversary/pace car editions they will flood the market with this time.  By the 1990s I swear it was easier to get an "edition" of some kind than a stock one.

Well they only made 3,400 of the 69's.  I'm sure they learned flooding the market isn't to smart.  Anyone want a low mileage original 78 vette Pace car, with paper work?  They made over 6,000 and everyone stored them.  Heck look at Ford with the Mustang?  There are lot's of Hi Po Special Edition versions out there

By those pic's, looks like Chevy is already ahead. :smilielol:

Naaa the Chebbi and Ford are broke down and the Challi is taking the drivers to get help! :smilielol:

I thought it was forced to start the race at the back of the pack in another highly biased motor "journalists" attempt to paint Mopar in a bad light and it was passing the other two clowns on the first lap.

Sounds like you noticed the same thing I have about how cars are rated/tested/evaluated ...just is not the same if you aren't writing the checks is it Ghoste.  ;)

mopar_nut_440_6

Every test I have seen has rated the Chevy ahead of the Dodge in most aspects except for styling and room. The performance is quite close though and personally I think the Challenger is the only one that still bears a resemblance to the originals. The Ford and Chevy do not. IMHO

The only one of these three that you could attempt to squeeze passengers into is the Challenger which is very important if you have kids or want to take more than one passenger.

The other disadvantage I see is that the Challenger is very inflated in price at least in our province. These guys do not seem to want to budge on a 60G price tag for an SRT8. I am looking into this to see how low I can get these guys on the price but in all honesty I think I would rather spend my money on another old one!

I like the challenger, a lot.  I think Dodge did a great job on it and it really seems solid.  I will say though, the Camaro has a huge edge on the body lines.  Look at that rear?  It reminds me of the 2nd gen Charger  with that powerful look and angles.  GM will do a lot with the nose that many of you are not liking right now.  They will have a Z/28, bulge hoods and stripes, hidden headlamps, and I'm sure many changes are do.  What I don't like about the Challenger is I find the side view boring and I don't see what changes they can make?  Though I do love the front end on the Challenger.

O.K, I can't take it anymore, I admit it, I WANT ONE!!!!!!!!   :woohoo:

There have been a few buzzing around here.
But then again I live a couple miles from the GM tech center.

I like the Camaro because it has body lines. The rear quarters bulge out (agree with 1969chargerrtse post), the front end is not a transplant from any other Camaro ever.
The Chally is one flat ass billboard from the side. Wouldn't mind one, but it doesn't win any body line awards. It didn't take much imagination to draw up the new Challenger. Real simple lines and body panels. No real stretch from the original.

It will be a fun summer seeing Mustangs, Challengers and Camaros on the road again.

let's see. I wonder how many green colored cars they will make. :stirthepot:

Sadly what all three are missing is the proper price point. If any of them could offer one at a reasonable price then they would win...but they always get carried away with extras and do dads...then the dealers get greedy and tack on over sticker fees.
