You can always count on GM to deliver a good heavy dose of "angry kitchen appliance" front end styling.

now THATS funny

I like them - more than the Challenger but maybe less than a Mustang. I'd like to see them side by side to get an idea of how they compare in size. The Challenger is just big. It's unlikely that I'd buy a Chrysler product at all these days (bad experiences).

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I like the Challenger best still, not because it's a Dodge but just based on style.  I'm not sure which one I'd rate 2nd, right now I lean towards the Mustang over the Camaro but maybe some of the Camaro styling quirks that bug me will do so less over time?

challenger , then mustang ,   that thing they call a camaro does not have enought retro styling  :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

Oddly enough on the Camaro, it's the retro touches that leave me cold.  The 69 Camaro was never my favorite so the grille and the louvers behind the door are what turn me off.  The retro touches on the other two are what I like so I pretty much prove the point about it all being subjective.

Last I heard the Z28 was dropped. The SS is ~420hp @ ~$33k.

I like it. It looks like a good mixure of modern style + '67-'69 Camaro. Looks-wise I prefer the Challenger a little more and maybe the Mustang a little less. I don't know, it's a bit of a toss-up between all three in my book. I'm just glad all three are being made although it may be their dying gasp.

Great lookin' car!   :2thumbs:

Now let's take a step back in time, oh let's say 5 to 10 years ago, what 2 door performance cars (that's V8 RWD) were being offered for less than $50,000.00?

well i'd go with the mustang GT/COBRA, pontiac trans am, and CAMARO??
i live in CHARGERLAND.. visitors welcome. 166 total, 7 still around

They are thinking of making a COPO version of the new Camaro! Imagine that...Corvette engine in a new Camaro. :scratchchin: :scratchchin:

IMHO the best thing about the new Camaro is the car body's overall proportions.  It's actually shaped right.  It's not a shark, nor a big sedan, nor a jellybean, nor a modern MG vert, nor an italian exotic wannabe.    Just a muscular ponycar, period.

It sounds stupid but this has proven damn difficult to get Detriot to deliver in the last couple of decades.

IMHO I think they copied the great lines of the Chally...but alas did not quite get er done. I suppose I'd take it if I couldn't get a Chally
I'd rather die than go to heaven.

I actually saw a Silver one of these on last Thursday - was up in Brentwood, CA

I got to sit in both the new Camaro and Challengers and I have to say I like the Challenger wraps around you when you sit in it. I wish I took some interior shots of the Camaro but I did luck out and get an engine shot (they kept the hoods closed on all of them.)
Wouldn't mind having one like this.

There's some other pictures of them mixed in here http://s41.photobucket.com/albums/e271/bearscharger/09%20car%20show/

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

I like them better than the new Challengers I think...maybe I'm just sick of looking at pics of new Challengers.  The interior of the Camaro is definitely more attractive than the Challengers, since Chrysler just pulled the dash out of the Charger/Magnum.  I actually prefer most newer GM products over newer Chrysler...just MHO.

Acceleration Comments: Launch control is fun but easy to beat with a little care. Best launch from about 3,000 rpm: Get the clutch out fast then pedal it. This is an easy car to launch and it bangs gears like a serious pony car should -- good rubber in second and sometimes third. Fun and fast. Burnouts are easy.

Handling Comments: Camaro is a large car and the driver feels it in the slalom. Its limits are respectable for this segment. Problem is, it's difficult to place because of its small glass area. Like driving a tank, it's hard to tell where its edges are. Still, after time behind the wheel, most drivers will find those edges comfortably. Steering response is slower off center than Mustang, but it goes through the cones at about the same rate.
Braking Comments: Pedal has good feel and based on the caliber of the brake system I'd say these brakes are less likely to fade than those of other pony cars. No fade in this test.

The new 2009 Camaro,  will bring back the popular muscle car and return some luster to the Chevrolet brand, while the pace car will add even more sparkle in the form of a silver SS model with orange decals. A new Camaro has already run pace laps at the Daytona 500, so this may mark a trend that will put the car in the spotlight throughout the year.

Although GM has not made any announcements, we can expect a special edition of the Camaro with Indianapolis 500 livery to become available in limited numbers.

All of those appearances marked something truly special in the life of General Motors' popular pony car, and 2009 will bring yet another to the fore as the newly-revived Camaro will once again pace the 93rd running of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 24, 2009.

This isn't the first go-round for the 2009 Chevy Camaro this year; last Sunday, an orange and gray SS made its left-turn-only debut at the Daytona 500.

This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.
