Car appears to have had a vinyl roof.
looks like a put a window plug in it , wonder if the deck lid fit ? or was modified ?

Any guesses to what the black hood is from up against the wall to the right of the last nose cone.??????'Kinda thought 69 Catalina??? And off to the right you can see headlight doors assemblys witn no lamps in them .If there are 6 of 24 mock up shots.where are the rest

This hood has the trim at back pair of louvres body center line and similar design shape a large A with and turned on the ends on front corners. If it is a 69 Catalina hood  why would it be there.

[/quote

It does look like a pontiac catalina hood againist the wall .The picture I found for reference shows a striking resemblence down to the lines.Wonder what creative was doing with it .They did lift off hoods and the Hurst 300 hoods But Pontiac ?????

The Grand Prix hood was pretty similar as well was it not?

Okay, who's going to step up and build the 69 Superbird? all of the other concepts/mockups have been done. Don't look at me. I have all of the parts, but my 69 is too nice to start putting a Superbird front end on. A wing is all that I'm adding to my car. This way I can repair and repaint the quarters in a long day and have it back to original. I'll save the good stuff for my 70 Satellite.

Yes those hoods would be from converted Daytonas.   I was talking to a guy at the Keokuk IA racers reunion a couple years ago.  He said that Ernie Derr got a whole bunch of those '69 front clip parts from Creative and ran them on his IMCA Charger.   Ernie's last car was a new 1970 chassis, but he preferred the 1969 Charger front clip and bumper.  Here's the car.

Ernie's car is still in as raced condition and I'm sure it will stay that way for the foreseeable future.    I forget the exact reason why he preferred the '69 front clip, but I believe it had to do with weight.

Nah - Hurst did their own conversions. Probably an employee's hood.

Is that a "for sure" because I thought the deal when Ernie sold it was that it HAD to be restored to it's before raced look?

Just the opposite.  Ernie sold it on the condition it be left as it was raced.

THE CHARGER PUNK

the 69 RR used looks like it was a v21 car by lookin on the cowl :yesnod:

Was looking for additional creative industries related photos.Concerning this other post. These are the only ones I found and seen to date

there must be  pictures like that somewhere    , its a wonder the any of the old creative employes have not been tracked down that worked on the aero chargers !  some of them might have taken privite pictures , as the cars were soo unusal ! , same as the old production line workers ! there have or been more interviews with them

WOW! just seeing these for the first time. I love these old pics! i also noticed the drawings on the wall, looks like a corvette with a triangle shaped shadow on the hood, the scketches below i can't quite make out but I'd sure like to see them better,.. I've saved the pics and will blow them up... the bottom sketch looks like a Can Am car with a mid-level wing like  Ferrari GTO from '81 but with a strange cupped look to the front end.  :shruggy:

the one pic looks like a concept challenger drawing I'll post here...
BTW: the mockup SB has twin rear view mirrors too, pretty unusual from what I remember of cars at the time.

C_stripes

I just noticed that it looks like it was a Daytona wing. Look at the pass side of the wing in the side profile shot. The wing also doesn't seem to be as tall as actual Bird wings.
I'm smarter than I act, But I don't act smarter than I am.
