Well since I'll probably be banned in the next few days.  I just wanted to let you guys know that I signed up for the tour again.

There is a party at my place at Lakeland Camping Resort in Milton, WI on Friday before the tour.

I hope to have my 09 Challenger R/T Classic here by then, otherwise I gotta get my 71 going.

If you guys wanna meet up, let me know.

I've actually talked to a few guys at Hot Rod about that before.

The reason they don't do Route 66 or such, is because of distance and availablity of space.  There are few places along the original route 66 within the 300 mileish time frame that could either fit, or be worth going too.  The mid-west is near perfect that there are great driving areas, and are relatively close together and have large enough facilities to host a Power Tour, and a large enough local showing to be profitable.

If I get my 68 Charger done in time, I'm going!!   I made hotel reservations.......  The problem is I'm spending money like it's growing on trees right now. :brickwall: :brickwall:

You're welcome to come up and party at my place on Friday, there are a few close hotels that are just a hop skip and a jump away from Madison.

I'll be there, I just hope in my new Challenger.

Thanks for the invite! I'm being a woose and won't bring my 70 RT. My friends are giving me a bunch of crap about it.  If the 68 isn't done, I may just drive it with my work car - ex cop car.  May go to "The Sticker Dude" and see about getting something made up to doc it up a little.

What kind of ex-cop car?

You're gonna have to join the Mo-Power Tour as well.

I read your blog last year as you were doing the tour.  As you had to do it with your Caprice, I will probably have to do it with my cop car.  It's a 2003 Crown Vic with 70k miles.  Picked it up from my town for $2k.  It needed a new fan and some grease for the steering knuckles, and that's it.  Had it a year now and it's been the best car I've ever bought for the money.  Plus, it's priceless how most people think I'm an undercover cop!  Nothing like getting some respect!

It would be nice to have a "police escort" at 100 mph.....

Should join the tour cruzin, it is too much fun.

Alrighty, my group is going to be showing up on Saturday at 1.

Lakeland Camping Resort
2803 East State Road 59
Milton, WI 53563

There is a party at my place though on Friday.  It is only a half hour straight south on I-90.

Once you enter lakeland, go down the main road to the main store, with the pool. I'll be setup there.

Just got back from doing some of the Tour for the first time-definitely beat my expectations.... :2thumbs:

Very, very cool.  As always, there weren't a lot of Mopars, but there never seems to be. :scratchchin:

The day started with a smile when I was getting on the expressway.  Oops, what am I doing

Met up with a friend and his group and was floored by how each car in the tour had a very cool story.  There was only 1 Mopar, so of course I'll start out with this one.  It a 71 Dodge Wagon with a 383 4 speed Pistol Grip.  Charlie (owner) does the tour every year with it and drives the hell out of it.  It's a 1 of 3 built.  Very cool car :drool5:.

Matt owns this 69 Camaro, and races it on Road Tracks.  He modified this car, and did all the work himself.  Very cool car!

My buddies 95 Corvette is the fastest car I've every been in!  I haven't been in a Viper yet, but this thing would give a Viper a run.  He picked it up for 1/4 of what the owner had into it.  The engine was built up professionally and a turbo added.  This car is insanely fast :yesnod:

The event is much bigger than what I expected and can't wait to have my 68 run it next year.  Everyone should do the long haul at least one time in life.  I've met some very cool people from all over the country, and to have this many people with the common interest is awesome.  Our hotel on Monday night had a great burnout event going until the cops came to shut it down. Everyone had a turn to show what they can do. It was priceless....

Ryan, good meeting you.  If you want to join with us next year, the door is open!

On the way, home I snapped this picture-

It is so much fun,  I've taken over 1000 pictures over the past few days just on the Tour.  Take a look.

I say Route 66 would be cool...it would get everyone thru Amarillo again  :icon_smile_cool:

I think Charlie's wagon made the new August  09 issue of Hot Rod as a matter of fact...

A friend made the Dayton stop and snapped some pics...looked like someone took a first gen Charger and made a "Daytona" out of it.  I'm sure it is prob somewhere in the album posted.

Looks like a good time!
