$21k is average price for a 70 Charger R/T. Do your homework here

Actually there are quite a few 70 R/T D21 A33 A47 cars registered. However as an aside, surprisingly few 70 500 models had that combo even though it was available.  :scratchchin:

You could combine the 500 and the SE for 70?

Blakcharger440

There were supposedly approximately 1300 of the 1970 Charger RT 4spd 440 cars built. I wonder if that included the SE models as they didnt have separate numbers for those. I have one but it is not a SE.

If the car is running, not cobbled up,complete and all there and not a total rust bucket then it sounds like a fair price. Would need to see some pics.  :popcrn:

Sounds like a cool car. Of course, depending on condition, the value will vary.....................  But, it's a good starting point.....................

Yes, you could have ordered a 1970 Charger 500 SE version.  I used to own a 383-2bbl. auto version in plum crazy/white, but I traded it off due to severe rust issues......

Cool, I always thought you could have one or the other after 69 but not both.  I'll have to pay more attention.

Actually 1,443 70 Charger R/T 440 4-speed cars....not including export cars (Canada and rest of world)

I did not know they were offered together until I ended up with that particular Charger.  I remember that it had alot of options (full fender tag, including the AM/8-track and front disk brakes to name a few), so it must have been a luxury cruiser back in the day......

Yep I knew it was somewhere around that number. Did they count the RT/SE cars as part of that bunch or is there an approximate number for them with a 4speed?

Yes the SE cars were part of the total. Unfortunately the Chrysler sales figures didn't break out it further. When it comes to various option combinations all we have to go on is what is registered/documented in the 70 Charger database.

My yellow car is/was a 500, SE, 4-speed, 383. No disk brakes, though.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

69_500

Even a few odd ball 70 Charger 500 SE' with 383 4bbl with power sunroofs out there running around. Used to be a nice one in Indy, that came out of kentucky, and went, well I forget where it went to 5 years ago.

472 R/T SE

My buddy had a solid original sublime R/T SE 4 gear for sale here a while back for $30k and it never sold, surprised me.

For $21k I'd be all over that.  Take a magnet to it and check the inner fenders in the trunk to see if the undercoating's been disturbed.  If all that checks out and the frame's solid I wouldn't have a problem giving them what they want.

Offer $18k, maybe they'll settle for even less?  Does it still have it's Dana?

Four gear cars are a premium.

rick.d

Is that thing in the El Paso TX, area by any chance?  i used to know a guy that had an orange 70 R/T S/E  with a 4-spd there while i was stationed at Fort Bliss.  I think it was originally f8 green and he changed the color to orange. I wonder if it is the same car?

Death1970Proof

Looks like a decent car for a fair price if there is not any serious rust issues going on. The 4speed adds value for sure.

On the 70 500 se topic. I heard less than 3000 were made in 1970?
I have only seen two 500 se's and I own one of them...
