Big Disc Brakes....

so...     I am looking for BIG disc brakes for my Charger....     any suggestions ?   I'm looking for around a 14" rotor set up with 4-piston calipers...       any leads ?

they use a viper caliper on a 11.75" mopar rotor...   not exactly what i'm looking for....     I'm looking for a large rotor set up.

i know the upgraded calipers are $1100 plus rotors. you cn use the 13" ones also.. reality with hydroboost its wway overkill i like it for the visual factor, also there rear kit doesnt incorporate a e-brake , also try dr diff  hes got i similar set up with brembo brakes.

when i bought mine the baers were 3k front and rear another 700 for hydroboost, then if i want to upgrade to 6piston from calipers 1100 plus rotors...400  right now the car stops awesome, no need for bigger just like how it looked  i probably do it. i would do it yesterday if they had a rear e brake system with the 6piston for the rear but as for right no good...I bought mine from steve strope with nycmille a few years back. hope that helps

I have heard that Dr. Diff offers a kit for 13in kit for mopars. I believe they are Cobra mustang discs. I have also heard of somebody using the 14 in discs from the newer Chargers?

Here are some pics of Wilwood 14" rotors - front and back. Fronts have 6 piston calipers, rears have 4 piston with the integral parking brake.  I'll be running manual brakes.  No need for power or hydroboost with rotors this large... have enough leverage as is

The brakes, which included all hardware, pads, master cylinder, fluid, saftey wire/tools, E-brake cable, braided houses, proportioning valve, slotted & cross drilled rotors, red calipers, was around $4500.

true - but where do you get new rotors ?  pads ? etc...    I'm thinking of making my own set up with readily available parts      I know for a fact I can have the set up done for way less than $2000....       give me a couple weeks

The 12.19 Willwood kit I have with 4 piston superlite calipers fits behind my 15" rims, albeit very close.  The are old Aluminum Keystones.

I don't own a car yet.
I plan on having a 15x10 in the back and a 15x8 in the front in either a Slot Mag or Magnum 500.

The steel wheels will probably have more room on the inside diameter than the aluminum, so that shouldn't be a problem.

My kit cost $1700 and it included all the upfront brake hardware you see along with:
Polished 7/8" diameter Willwood aluminum master cylinder (I switched over to a manual setup) with a mounting bracket
All the stainless steel brake lines needed for the car
Flexible stainless steel lines for the front calipers
Flexible stainless steel line for the rear end
Proportioning valve

All you need is the original front spindles and nuts.
And of course back brakes

I have the Summit disc to drum conversion kit for the back.  I think they are 11" rotors and it was around $500.

Talk to Dean at HotRod - They guy knows his stuff.  His website has some great info on it as well (His brake article is very informative).

I plan on doing a rear disc brake conversion myself, and Power or Manual, I'm not sure of yet. Maybe a hydraboost system...

I would try and adapt a set of 06-09 corvette C6 Zo6 brakes. You can get the front and rears for about 1200.

I have actually looked into that caliper already - I know for a fact the fronts will work with some finess...     I originally wanted to use a Brenbo Caliper but those things are so damn wide - the more modern wheels would be needed as most wheels out there only have < 1.00" of caliper clearance....     It looks like I'll be using hub mounted rotor for this little project
