is this a 1972 or 1973 charger lookin @ door tag?

i was looking at the door stick on the 1973 charger and noticed it was built in 11-1972, but the vin reads 1973 is this correct?

Yes.  It's just an early build 73.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Model year started in August of the year before - example - 1973 Charger production started August 1, 1972. 1970 model year production started August, 1969 etc. Car makers always introduce the new cars around late summer/fall.

Pilot cars where built first and then the regular production started.
