Gone in 60 Seconds movie Superbird??

It was my understanding that it was Pat Mc Kinneys blue superbird in that movie .In a short scene.As Pat had did the daytona clone he got from Jim Radke into the Joe dirt car . Pat is also known to own the Rockford files brown pontiac as well.We went to car show in Atlantic city today.And ran into a guy who owns a B5 blue superbird prior owner Vinny Plotino Current owner lou Magnifico I seen again today .who I ran into at local NJ shows.And didnt know till he told me that was his superbird used in gone in 60 seconds.And I said Pat Mc Kinneys.But I dont think he recognized that name.On moparts were we posted today pictures and mentioned this superbird .Another response was for Pat Mc Kinney.If this is the case I think its cool that the movie superbird is here in NJ.As Big Willie 440 daytona also in NJ

That was a cool part of the movie. I just wish we could have seen more of the red 71 Cuda 4 speed car since it's very similar to mine.
I just watched the director's cut of the movie a few nights ago. I still love that movie.

Lou's car is one digit off from mine. I meet him at a local cruise night. He took some pictures of our cars in line like they would have rolled off the assembly line.  Tom

Louies car was also used in the movie "Cars" from Pixar.  Superbird, known as "the King" was supposedly out in CA for a month or so Louie said.  Ive known Louie for years.  Great guy and said he still loves my charger and I keep offering him a trade but for some reason he never takes me up on it.

  Its all confusing as this superbird of Lous dates back and even sold in NJ and had NJ ownership from the mid 70-80- .And is the car in scene of gone in 60 seconds shot in CA.And credited being the cars superbird produced in CA.Where I had heard Pat Mc Kinney who also owned Joe Dirt daytona and other TV and movie cars.And lives in CA. That was his superbird

Patrick and Mike McKinney built this car from a 1969 318 column shift Charger. The rear window plug was made by welding the hatchback portion of a Vega over the original rear window opening. The trunk lid was shortened, and fiberglass Dayton nose and wing were added. The fenders and hood are off of a 1970 Charger.

The were going to make a Complete Daytona Clone but lost interest so the car sat. Then Patrick's 1970 Superbird was used for a brief scene in the Gone in 60 Seconds remake, which led to him renting the Daytona clone to the Joe Dirt production. The car was sold a couple of years ago and is now owned by a someone on the east coast. Pictures can be seen at www.eastcoastmopar.com

From what Louie has told me, he found the car in a garage when he was working one day.  The guy initially said no and his wife persuaded him to sell the thing.  He apparently didn't know what he had as Louie got it for a great price.  The price I will let Louie divulge.  From what I remember, all that the paint has had done was just polished up.  Possibly, but not 100 % sure, but possibly, one repaint.  When it went out to CA for the movie CARS to have it shot and scanned or whatever they did, they buffed up the car really nice so it would shine up good for the pictures.  The problem is, they only did the sides of the car and major areas that would be seen.  The panel under the window was missed or forgotten and looks duller than the rest of the car.

Again, he has a gorgeous car for those of you who have not seen it.  The car certainly has some nice credits to go along with the history of the car.
