i just got to wondering about my new VOODOO cam after reading the crank thread . the VOODOO cam has been  sitting on the shelf down in the garage for the last 6 months or so . is it ok laying down in the original box and packing or should it be stood on end ? right now its in a safe place . i thought about standing it stright up when i first got it but i was more afraid of it getting knocked over .

:shruggy:

thanks RANDY

terrible one

I wouldn't trip about it. It probably set that way for much longer than that waiting on you to buy it!

wow  :o ... I'm amazed about how many of you guys have doubts about how hard is the iron to simply bend by its own weight and think it could get damage. Is not the first time I see a question like that ( but they were mostly about cranks ).

if it was in that way, I'll never will cross an iron bridge anymore  ::)

LOL, I have known about that since ever, because is the tipical example about resonance, wave lenght, frequency etc... on sound.

But thats not a solid bridge like I could be talking about LOL

ANYWAY, a camshaft or even a crank shaft, won't be on that kind of situation EVER  :P

I would keep it standing up. Also even if its dry storage you might think about covering it in assembly lube. They will rust just sitting in a box.
