Very nice. Are you still taking the Scow to MATS, and will it be installed (I'm guessing no...but I had to ask  :icon_smile_wink:) ? I'm going to try to make the MOPower tour out of L.A., and meet up with the caravan at Barstow. Be  :coolgleamA: to see you both there.

I dont think its a factory piece, but it definately fits  440 and my 'expert moper engine' buddy says its edelbrock from 1969 and apparentley  quite rare. 12 bolt top. it has no numbers or markings. it looks like the str-15 for the 383 but is just a wee bit 'wider'

all I know is that it is in perfect shape and fits!

wOOt!

if the weather is clear yes me and Saul will be driving our cars down( he's got a purple 1970 hemicuda). if the wether is shitty I will drive my truck. I wont be installing this for a while I need to save up some $$$$ for the new cam and headwork. I also hope to find some parts at MATS, so I have a little dough stashed for that.

its a edelbrock str 14 , and probably will say mopar on it but its not factory that i know of, edelbrock made them for small blocks str 12 , b str 15 blocks and Rb blocks str 14
i have a str 14-6 for a 6pak but they made them also for 4bbl, 2X4bbls, also

if you find an old DC performance book it may have diagrams for modifying to prevent fuel puddles in intake, someone sent me a pic of the diagram for my intake but i don't remember if it was from here, moparchat.com or where

I have two others I got during the quest, a str 14-45 with a single 4 bbl yop and a

str-15 dual quad for a 383..originally I was going to graft the 383 top on to the 440 bottom, but when I found this that solved the problem.

so if anyones in the market for wither one of those I have them.

I have seen the deal where you make a 'spider'  out of aluminum that divides the plenum but yet allows for equal vacuum. I will probably do that.

far as i can tell the easy way to distinguish them from factory is the factory hemi peice has 2 seperate lids for the ones i've seen whil the eddys seem to have a solid top that opens the whole middle of the intake

sometimes they sell for a lot on ebay sometimes not, i would start the auction at $400 plus unless you had to pay more for them yourself, i've seen them top out at 500-750 before, depejnds on someone seeing it and wanting it that much of course, i haven't found the gasket for the lid yet, have to make my own i guess

the diagram i got just shows to add a dam on one side and remove another that is cast into the lower intake but leave the same dam on the other side intact sooooo............

Will a HEMI crossram Linkage be used? :shruggy:

i dont htink that it will work then, as this setup is dumping onto the sides of the plenum not the middle.

for someone uneducated on these, is there any kind of performance gain using them or are they looks only?

from what I understand ov crossram intake manifolds they are for very high rpm use (more power generally) but do not have the driving manners of a single 4bbl intake (dual plane or single plane) - generally you lose low end torque and gain high rpm power...      They do look great - Installed an aluminum crossram on a 64 Polara at work...    ground down and completely polished -  Looked Puuurrrrrdddyyyyy

50/50, looks and high RPM, fuel puddles at low RPM, or so i have been told, but with the mods and a stroker with some deep breathing heads..........................

yep. im going to have  the expert dude basically re-set up the cam and heads to make full use of the intake, he says he can get a lot out of it, and I trust him. plus, it just looks so great.
